Finally had some time to try this...sweeeeeet! Love it.

I've read some comparison comments, but no one has mentioned the pricey Nomad Factory Analogue String System plug. It's $189, which seems high to me, but I've been wrong before on this sort of thing.

S3/Stringz2...were they developed in different sytems? Cygnus-SF is really nice! Thanks very much :)

Any ideas?
Do you want to give THIS VERSION a try to see if it cures any of the problems
Still no luck...got this weeks REAPER, and ext2, Cygnus yes, S3, no...
Hang in there, haven't approached escape velocity yet! :)
WAIT! It Works!  I was just ready to send you a bug report, and
was looking through caffeine glazed eyes at too much Xwindows text output,
when it hit me...could Ians dev system have path demands/limitations built in?
So I quickly copied the S3.dll to the linux equivalent of C:Program_Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins
(It had been in the equivalent of C:\My Plugins :) )

BADDA-BINNGGG! It works... so path maintenance may help someone else too? Give it a shot
just in case. Gotta go now, my new synth seems to think there is life on Mars!

I've tried downloading the above version, moving her around from my standard dungeon, Program_Files\Steinberg\Cubase SX 3\VstPlugins\Synths, up one in the tree ...Cubase SX 3\VstPlugins, and back again and she's still bringing the project to its knees.

This is a DRAAAG, cause this thing sounds great in this song and I don't want to let her go.

Ian?
:help:

In the meantime, have you tried Reaper or Cantabile12Lite, or demo? Small downloads, and place S3 in ...Steinberg\VstPlugins? :)

Edit: This also helped Ians StringzII to function, on my alien system. Have you tried it? anothe fine synth from Krakli!

Had a listen to these now these are very good. 'Rising to the stars' puts me totally in mind of a sound used on a Tomita album (Kosmos, I think, but I am not sure) Top stuff. Thank you

Thanks for sharing, it's a really unique synth. I really like it. Second place after EZ-Poly in my Krakly Top Ten :D

You may or may not be pleased to know that S3 (on the Krakli web site) now comes with a full bank of 64 presets. Many thanks to all who contributed

I've been rediculously busy lately so I'm lagging behind, but I'm really looking forward to trying this one. The mp3 example sounds awesome!

Who wouldn't be pleased with more presets. But, really, isn't 64 a half-bank? :)

Yes but we were taking a bank holiday at the time.
