Ok, so I recently bought a Micromoog that I found on Craigslist here in DC. And I am quite very happy with it. Perfect condition and it sounds incredible.
However, I have one problem: when I plug the Micromoog into my Firewire 410, I get a feedback-type background noise through both my speakers and headphones. This feedback occurs whether I have the Micromoog on or off. When I plug my guitar in I have no such feedback problem and the same goes for when the cable is plugged into the 410 and no instrument - I therefore assume that it is not a problem with the soundcard.
Strangely, when I record [into Ableton for the most part] and then playback, after having unplugged the Micromoog, the sound of the recording is quite pure and I don't hear the feedback sound.
Any ideas?
Would a line level shifter work? [that solved a feedback problem I was having between the Firewire 410 outputs and my monitors]

Something in the routing probably... Have you tried the "reset" button in the mixer settings of your FW410 control panel? Or disabled input monitoring in Ableton?
Can you describe what's patched to all the inputs & outputs of your FW410?

The Micromoog is all I have going into the 410. What I have running out is 2 1/4" cables to my monitors.
