Guys, they did the same for RMX. A little teaser video, showing bits of the demo, and the reaction of the crowd present. It's not supposed to be an indepth Omnisphere guide, it's a taster of the show, demos and crowd reaction. It's why there are lots of shots of crowd reactions and nods of approval. Get over it already...
Not that KVR posters are guilty of over-reaction either...
Chill out, enjoy the teaser material, and make your own mind up about whether this product suits you or not. We've got *8 months* of more teaser and demo stuff to come yet.
It's not pretending to the the best damn thing ever, and all things to all people. What it *will* be I'm sure is a great instrument, great value for money, musical and inspirational. Spectrasonics in my mind "spectacularly over-deliver" with their products.
Is it designed to every individual's personal specs? Will it appeal to all people equally? Of course not.
It's just a new product coming out - if it interests you, fine, if not, that's fine too.
But it's pointless to say video x is rubbish because it's not produced for your personal needs. No - it's produced for the Specs, and in this case, this particular video was clearly intended to show the crowd reaction to the demos, and people's impressions. I thought that was pretty obvious, although it seems sometimes the obvious needs to be explicitly pointed out...

what i saw was a synth that could be synced to loops in rmx, and that to me sounded ...organic in loss of a better word.
The arp he played, and the stuff he synced with rmx alone gave me a bunch of ideas of what this instrument is capable of, and that excites me.
Im looking forward to it, and couldnt care less if Princesses keyboard player liked it bottom.
Im getting giddy like a girl all over. Cant wait

Yeah, and you actually do get some information about the instrument if you pay attention.beej wrote:Guys, they did the same for RMX. And with regards to the crowds reaction, Spectrasonics deserved showing that to the public imo. Why shouldnt they?

Yes! thankyou thankyou thankyou! It's the program I want. Have to buy a mac to use it though if it's the one I'm thinking about. Macs are more even steven in terms of pricing with respect to pre-built pc's now anyway. Plus I actually can find enough stuff on ebay to build one without having to accept a graphics card I don't want. If they still do that, I don't keep track of them that much.meister eder wrote:Sounds like you're talking about Redmatica Keymap, which is not a softsynth, but a sampled instruments editor - and you can be about sure that, among other tools, Spectrasonics used this extensively in creating the content for Omnisphere.noiselurker wrote:In all honesty, the best softsynth I think I've seen recently is a MAC only utility/synth/sampler that goes along with logic's exs24. It won computer music award for something. It is really bugging me that I can't find the link or remember the name, but if you are a mac user you probably know what I'm talking about. It does realtime formant, pitch, volume, RESYNTHESIS, and alot more. It is THE BEST piece of software in terms of bringing hardware synthesis to soft synths. In fact, that little bugger might grow and turn into something really special, it already is special, and quite frankly, it is a program that makes me want to own at least ONE MAC just to use it.
Anyway thank you again, that not only is a program I'm going to have to really think about altering some of my computer setup, but also it was just plain an itch at the back of my brain I could not scratch.

Some more pics... A guy called Iwilliam on the Northern Sounds forum took some pictures of Omnisphere. Plenty! (I hope you don't mind me linking to them William ):)

I don't think there will be an Atmosphere 2...this is from the Omnisphere FAQ...
q."Will Omnisphere be replacing Atmosphere?"
a."Yes".
Omnisphere also has the complete library that Atmosphere has.
In a way Omnisphere is the update to Atmosphere. There is even an upgrade path from Atmosphere to Omnisphere as there would be if Spectrasonics simply called it Atmosphere 2 instead. So it looks like there isn't going to be an Atmosphere 2 in future.
