I'm looking for hardware rack mountable synths that have lots of neat fiddly knobs and sliders and buttons and 'stuff'. Add your own two cents to the list I've briefly come up with that you'd like to have or already own.

Waldorf Q Rack
Roland JP8080
Korg MS2000R
Access Virus C/TI with rack kit

etc...?

Anyone?

If you need only knobs and sliders get a Behringer BCR/BCF controller...

If you need a rack synth for it's sound and with a lot of knobs get:

Moog Voyager Rack
Prophet 08 Rack
Waldorf microwave XT

Maybe I should have specified knobs and twiddly bits ON the rack mount unit itself.

I'm out of room for something like that.

OK, what I am about to propose will most likely not be what you're looking for... but here goes. The TX81z. Seriously. Get yourself a good software editor (with midiquest everything can be automated inside your DAW, I think). It's dirt cheap and does basses and leads reeeeeally nicely, not to mention bells, pads and keyboard sounds.

But, yeah, you NEED an editor for it.

That's a thought. Not much to twiddle though with 6 knobs and one jog shuttle wheel.
