I personally think that the synth (as a start) should come with 3 banks.
The first containing presets from the 60's to the mid 80's era. The second containing sounds from the mid 80's up to now.

The third bank would be the default bank and would take the best of the best from the above two banks, mix 'em up a little and at the end of the day blow the user away with its wide range of sounds (from the past 40yrs), and great playability and usability of these presets. Sorta like what Maxx Claster's Toxic 2 did, combining the best of the best from two different banks into the default one, with lots of inspiring presets in it.

If the presets can inspire people to immediately dig into the synth, the job is done. And this may be able to overcome the issue that some people find with the gui.

How can presets inspire people if one patch - AS AWESOME AND AS PAHT SOUNDING AS IT IS - is taking, on ones (OK, my)AMD DuCo 3800+ .....

60% CPU ???

I downloaded the new version too, but after seeing the cpu usage (twice that of Gladiator) I deleted it within 10 min's

I am going to re-visit Sylenth1

Of course cpu usage is not low, but where you can find so analogue sound? Sorry guys, but Gladiator is really sucks comparing with Poly-Ana. My bank with 128 Poly-Ana patches is almost ready! Poly-Ana rocks!!!

I wouldn't say "Gladiator sucks compared to Poly-Ana"; they're kind of two different things, don't you think?

I just tried Gladiator (finally!), and I think it's an amazing-sounding synth, quite incredible, really. But so is Poly-Ana, in its smooth, analog, CPU-destroying way.

Firebird+, Sylenth1, Gladiator, Surge etc etc - All low cpu. Low cpu = more instances possible. EOS

Doesn't everyone use track freeze/bounce to audio these days? I know I do for two reasons...

A) I can put as many CPU hogging plugins and effects on a single track as I so desire, as long as that one track doesn't have enough CPU need to overload my dual core processor by itself (lol). This especially comes into play with Reaktor and when I go crazy and use long effect chains.

B) I can do editing of the audio in sample editors or whatev. I do stuff like that a lot, and I can't do that to a midi file.

Either way, I have been playing with Poly-Ana on my windows laptop and I feel the CPU usage is by far worth it when you consider the amazing sound.

I will definitely be buying this when/if it comes out for mac AU.

i get some stepping when sweeping the filter cutoff with the gui knob, and a midi pot, anyone else noticed this too ?
little suggestion too, add an option to remember midi learned assignments when switching presets.

all in all, despite the high cpu usage on some patches (not sure which features are the most intensive though, cause only a few patches get out of hand) i must reckon, this is one of the VERY FEW plugins that make my woofers blow air in my face when playing basses

i also checked the unshushable cokctor's presets, and they do make a much better job at showing off the synth's potential than the default ones IMO.

it ll take more cpu if there is no/less compromise.
