Star a new thread?
BTW even though I had earlier posted in this thread I was not informed that there were replies? Any one else had a similar issue?
You mean you could develop something ?

I may be artistically creative I am not technically creative. Too bad!
Musicians have been asking for an MFX to VST wrapper for many years. To me anyway it seems logical that the roadblocks can be overcome. Perhaps instead of wrapping the MFX maybe just point to he MFX and get it to link to a VST.
What I just said is probably dump but I feel there has to be a way.
Let me put it this way. There are many musicians that would pay $10 or maybe even $20 for this. I would! Would you? Would others?

That's not exactly what I meant, but you can start a thread about it if you want. I was just looking for a kind of replacement vst browser.

stanlea,
Sorry for the confusion caused in previous post.
My plug-ins are very disorganized which hinders my creative processes.
Hope that your suggestion gets more attention.

Has anyone tried to use Infinity http://www.squest.com/Windows/Infinity/ ... ction.html installed as a DXi in the shelltovst? If it never worked properly before. Is there any reason why it may work in shelltovst?
Just gave the dx and dxi shells a go in Energy XT 1.4.1 With no problems.
Very nice, Thank You!
Thanks. I will try them.
But I have another idea: Under windows, I am using Cakewalk so use dx's directly. Under Linux, however, VST hosts are available but dx is certainly not and most likely never will be (I have not checked using Wine but to my knowledge, this will not work). So ... I propose releasing the sources to Opensource. Then, either I or some other adventurous soul will try to get them going in Linux. Should this succede, there will be many more thank yous around

I also wish that there was a midi VSTi to MFX wrapper. I'd love to use some of the great midi VSTi plugins out there (by Tobybear for example) as clip-based effects in Sonar.

ok, i just reinstalled my beloved timeworks compressorX, a dx plugin ...
now someone plese help me:
for heaven's sake, i can't find the compressorX dll ... even the install log doesn't tell me anything! the funny thing is, it shows up as direct x?!
where do i find that dll? i searched all my drives, the searchfunction searches everywhere, also within the system and the hidden folders ... no luck ...
what am i doing wrong??
i'd really like to convert this to vst with shell2vst, rather than to use the dxshell to load it ...
anyone please?
