Little disappointed to see that the MS2000 only ships with 128 patches. How many other patch banks are there out there? Any more officially from Korg? Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks a bunch!

yes and a lot of those patches are weird and useless(imo) - it's the ones with the mod sequence that do it for me - but i think the point of these presets are to show off what you can do in the synth rather than make you want to use them - like in the case of those damn mod sequence patches haha. well the good news is there's a community of people making patches for it and you load them in using some patch management tool.
i personally haven't gone that route cause i actually use the synth in the manner of sort of like an analog synth where i often dont even save my patches - i just dial up a sound and record with it. i'd like to learn more about saving my patches inside the cubase sessions but i get frustrated with that quickly.

There are plenty of patches hat can be loaded via MIDI using a freeware Sysex utility. You can, for example, load all Microkorg presets into the MS2000. They have the same synth engine. I suggest you search the MS2000 Yahoo group:

You can also download the MS2000B factory patches from the Korg website. Those are different than the MS2000 factory patches.
