I just got kontakt 2 for mac and use it as a VST in cubase 4. I have a sound library that includes drums and snares etc... How is it that you assign lets say a kick on one set of keys and then the snare on the other set of keys? So I can record playing both at the same time?

You drag a kick sample to one key, then a snare sample to a different key.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to read your manual. Start on page 102, it talks about the mapping editor.

Often, you don't even need to get into the mapping editor: You can also load two or more instruments into your Kontakt rack at the same time, eg, kick and a snare, make sure they use the same midi channel (or ommi), and that neither is soloed or muted. Provided they don't overlap, ie. one key plays both a kick and a snare, there you are. Some of the Kontakt drum kits are set up for this. (If they do overlap, you'll have to transpose them).

Yeah, if you're just used to using Kontakt as a player for libraries, then the first time you try and create your own can be quite daunting. But it really is easy.

As somebody else said, the manual is a good thing here. The K2 manual isn't too large, so it won't take you more than an hour to read and you'll get a firm grasp on things.
