Steven Slate Drums Signature Drumkits v2.0 will be shipping this week.
Here are two updated demos recorded by Scott from Vita Et Musica. The drum sequencing on these demos is nothing but impressive. There is NO additional eq or compression on any drum pieces, the drums are straight out of Kontakt, all Steven Slate Drums.
First is the "RINGY RADIO KIT":

Next is the "DREAM KIT" inspired by the sounds of Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater:

Oh, well... Had to give it some thought - I was trying to be compassionate to my credit card - but finally gave in. These sound so freakin' great!
Looking forward to receiving my box.

Yeah! And Steven was kind enough to model Tommy Lee's sound, which I requested in this very forum - so to me this is almost like custom-made!koolkeys wrote:Good choice!

Just a quick demo using the Steven Slate Signature Series. This is a basic kit called "Meat and Potatoes Kit". This is with NO processing at all, and without any other instruments so you can hear the drums by themselves. So straight out of the box with absolutely no changes on this kit.
I did the groove by quickly randomizing the settings in Jamstix. This is my first time trying to map Jamstix for these drums so I hope the transitions are good there. Not every kit piece is represented in this piece, but it's a basic funk groove with some toms thrown in. Also, it's based on power and includes some ghosting and such.
Anyways, enough talking. Let me know what you think!

More to come in the next few days.

I just realized that my volume levels were a bit low there. Sorry about that. They won't be as punchy as Steven's demos. But again, NO compression or effects or anything has been added. Just added Jamstix, subhosted Kontakt3, randomized settings and changed mappings to match the kit, hit play for 32 measures and rendered.
I'll put more effort into some future stuff. Pretty busy for two or three more days.

They sound great. Would be good if there was some sort of crossgrade. I have BFD2 and Addictive drums so..............

Well it's really not the same thing though. Those two are dedicated players, and these are just samples. Not that I'm against it of course, so don't get me wrong. But Steven said there WILL be a BFD2 version.
I've not heard the BFD2 drums yet, as I don't usually listen to or demo stuff I can't afford(don't want to disappoint myself). But I HAVE heard AD, and even was a beta tester as many were. I love AD. However, the Steven Slate drums have single-handedly replaced almost everything in my drum library, and I felt I had a pretty big drum library. They just sound fantastic.
I don't mean to put down anything else of course. They are great. But these drums just make it so darn easy.

Brent I think your demo sounds great. Meat and Potatoes kit is a fun one. One thing I noticed was the hi hat has a bit less Z4 (ambience sample) then the rest of the kit.. was that how it was preset? If so I gotta turn that up. Great work though, nice complex little beat.

I don't really understand the product. It is just the samples. So how is room ambience controlled. There are different versions included for different samplers I gather. I know this is different to AD and BFD. The reason I mentioned a crossgrade is because for me personally I can't justify getting something like this (even though it sounds
