The demo is very nice! I really like how this instrument is developing! :D

It's so sweetly retro!

wow. that sounds so good...I'm not really worried about the cpu hit (that's the power of resampling :hihi: ) such a nice sound. Ian, this just keeps getting better 8)

Great vid Ian! - that pulse function look and sounds cool. S3C and the C is for Classic. Very appropriate as all you work is classic IMHO!

There will also be an S3F and then I need to decide whether to release these as Payware (for the whole bundle), Donationware or Freeware... :?: :?:

Just a question : you did so much work on RPM and it's almost ready, why do you now spend so much time on S3 ?
You can't always get what you waaaant...

Because there a number of large(ish) bugs, including the multi-core one. Plus an annoying problem in FLStudio that means that i want to hold off until SE has been updated to v1.1. I consider this fairer considering that I would have been expecting folks to pay a reasonable sum for the plug-in.
The dissapointment for me was that the patch and module writers put in a lot of work also, but i have explained the situation to them and I think they have forgiven me for the time -being

OK I understand better now. Thanks for answering.

How about payware for the bundle, or choose 1 for free, with the others then donationware until the bundle price is met, then get the rest... with an option to
design soundbanks as part of donationware. Might involve a little record keeping, but
thats the other thing computers are good at...:)

...BUMP...gotta keep this one on the radar for folks 8)

OK. The way that this is panning out is starting to take shape.

The S3 series will be a collection of synths each offering something a lttle different but all of them trying to embrace a retro feel with some newer features built-in.

S3 will be the plain vanilla 'string-pad-synth' (already released)
S3B offers a wider variety of waveforms, and is currently with the Patch writers.
S3C is similar to B but with multiple graphic envelopes (one per oscillator) so is capable of more morphing or evolving sounds. This is finished but I need patches for this if anybody is interested.
S3K is a 'mono' synth which is currently being developed to include a step sequencer with up to 32 steps and transpose, and an in-your-face tone.

The will also be an S3R which will consist of two morphable additive oscs

I am also being coerced into adding an S3D which will be a drum machine (the first time I have ever attempted this, but I am hoping to add some unique features)

Because of my dissapointment with releasing RMP (which will still appear one day!?!) I have changed tack and I am building smaller more building block synths. So don't expect all of these to appear at once.

If you want to have a look at whats been done so far look up Krakli on Youtube or for conveneience I have put the videos on this page..

Totally feasible

Well actually you wouldn't need the buttons but just volume sliders in place of the existing 'rockers'

Perhaps to keep in line with the retro feel they could be thumbwheels?
Something like this:

Perhaps
What do I get for thinking outside the box? :hihi: JK

I recently got GForce VSM for vintage strings but I am still interested to see what these new incarnations of S3 have to offer.

And the himalaya demo sounds great. The thing that initially got me interested in S3 was the possibility of layering multiple string synths sounds. S3 seems to have gone way beyond this now.
