Nacks wrote:Hi all,

I'm just after some advice on audio interfaces to record mostly guitar and some vocal onto PC. I have been using ASIO4ALL, Krystal Audio and Audacity, and I think its time to step up a bit. My local music shop has the following interfaces that are within my (limited) budget and they are all about the same price:

Lexicon Lambda
Presonus Inspire
Line6 Toneport UX1
Tapco USB
Tascam US122L

So any help would be greatly appreciated (particularly if any particular one is crappy), as well as any opinion on bundled recording software i.e. cubase LE, Ableton Live Lite etc.

:help:

BTW Midi is not critical
IK multimedia Stealthplug, for it's price/bundle

Ampltude2 Live
Sampletank2 LE (64 instrument 'no import' version)
Full Traction 2.1
T-Racks Pro LE mastering software
A decent collection of loops

and of course, the usb guitar/mic/keyboard input cable.

$99 maximun price. Maybe get a Line 6 product, and use the
best features and sounds from both! Amplitube Live and Sampletank sounds are
excellent! Reviews/mp3s are easy to find.

The 0404 is double the price, some folks have computers that won't
cooperate, but it has another excellent bundle. A good ebay unit!
And the 0202 is $80 less, same bundle, just no midi ports.

Enjoy 2008! :)

Thanks all for input, I noticed that presonus are selling a megastudio artist pack with the firebox and a heap of software so that has made my mind up - I will just have to save a little extra dosh and get that methinks
