Hey guys...
silly question I know...
I bought a new sp B1 (sounds great! thanks for the recommendations earlier) - but basically it sits in a little plastic holder - which clips into the shockmount - how exactly do I take the mic out of that? currently i've just been taking that whole bit out of the shockmount...
i hope that this question makes sense?

i cant find a pic of the free included" on the web... (wish i had a digital camera)
basically - the shockmount has a little black plastic thing that sits over the thin part of the mic and the lower bottom of the fatter part - then that plastic part hooks into the various threads in the part that attaches to the mic stand...
to put the mic in the plastic cover ... i basically had to push it in reasonably hard... now i cant get it out.. without feeling like i'm going to break the shockmount attachment?

ok thanks for the terminology info...
basically i cant get the mic outta the middle of the shockmount.. without taking the plastic holder it sits in out too.. i.e i have to take it off the rubber bands....
maybe i just have to be more forceful - i'm just scared of breaking something..

Recently Ive just left mine in the shockmount, although I know Ive taken the whole thing off before...

I have that exact mic and shock mount. IIRC, it goes in pretty tight, so it's probably just a matter of elbow grease.

My guess is you did NOT line up the notch on the mic with the notch in the shock mount and forced it in. Typically they slide in rather easily, and remove with little effort. However if you did not align the groove and slot, you then forced the shockmount onto the mic, you'll need some force to remove it.

the mic spins around quite freely in the shockmount
theres a little circumfrential notch on the bottom of the mic.. and a bit that sits inside it on the shockmount.. so its in there quite tight... but can spin round and round...
