I'm working on a project with all field recorded sounds, and I'm having a hard time coming up with bassy sounds. It can be bass drum like or just sub bass.

I was curious if any of you clever samplers have any suggestions?

Thanks :)

Like a short transient or a sustained bass sound?

The first thing that comes to mind is hitting a long iron rail with the palm of your hand: it resonates beautifully.

I could record it for you, if you like.

Put a drum mic on the opposite side of a wheelbarrow - pretty good, or slam a car door or boot. - maybe the side of some corrugated iron on a shed.

I got a few bass type hit samples within groups of stuff at my site as well obtained from recording all sorts of upturned pots, gates, sheds, steel plates etc.

Without a doubt record a dumpster or a huge barrel at a taconite plant like I did. How do I upload a few samples on here?
