Hello Lars,
Well I finally bought the Daf sample set a few days ago and I found the sound quality very good and detailed but I'm a bit confused as it seems to me, this is not the Daf from Middle East I was expecting to be & as I knew it.
I found a link where you can hear some preview mp3 from Madjid Khaladj CDs called :
Anthology of iranian rhythms - volume 2 / daf (mystical drum), dayré & zang-e saringôshti.
http://payplay.fm/madjidkhaladj2
This will give you pretty much the "sound" I was expecting with the Precisiondsound Daf sample set.
It seems to me it's more like a "classic" Framedrum, could you enlighten me about it, btw you can see a picture with the Daf on the CD cover on the link above & zoom for it & you'll see little rings all around the percussion.
Was it the same kind that was used for the sample set ?

Hello!
We used a middle eastern DAF but with no rings, its a Persian DAF and it has no rings attached.
Best regards,
Lars

That explains the difference in the sound
A bit too bad for me, it seems there is no one shot sampleset existing yet for the Daf with rings (only loops from an old sampleCD called "new world order" which I own)...

I take that as a tip for another percussion library
