Yeah, really miss those MIDI comps from XT1 - I use XT purely as a live tool (rather than a sequencer) & it's not much use to me without the ability to split/filter incoming MIDI data to different instruments. For me the biggest weakness of XT1 was the mixer (which I really needed to be better) & it's strength was the MIDI stuff. It's now reversed. :(

I want to echo the need for flexible SYSEX output, whether it be natively or through a third party plug. i _really_ need this for external hardware.

Synchronisation via MIDI. MIDI Clock or MTC and MMC.
I had much fun with energyXT Demoversion, but refuse to pay 50 EUR when I can't use eXT2's sequencer in my setup.

Hi everyone,

Today was my first experience with EXT, verion 2.07 for Mac, and I'missing one basic and absolutely vital (for me) feature.

My regular DAWs are first of all Digital Performer and sometimes Live 6. Let's just say that I'm looking for a slim replacement for Tracktion 3 (which is still very iffy on Mac) and had high hopes for EnergyXT after reading the KVR reviews.

First impressions are, of course, very promising. However, it seems that EXT 2 isn't quite ready for prime time on a Mac G5 with OS 10.4.10. Checking out the demo, I got two fatal crashes almost immediately when I tried to record a MIDI track with LoungeLizard 2. Also, the metronome was so deafening that I thought that my audio had crashed. Isn't there a level setting for the metronome?

Anyway, back to the missing (?) feature:

There seems to be no way to drag'n'drop MIDI patterns from the Toontrack EZ Drummer interface to its corresponding instrument track in EXT 2!

This is an unconditional dealbreaker for me, since EZD is my go to drum source and pattern drag'n'drop is fundamental to working with EZD.

So, please implement MIDI drag'n'drop — I won't be tempted before it's there...

Best,

Joey

EZD's drag 'n drop works here, I think. That's on pc, so I'd like it if any of the other mac-users could test this?

Anyway, you can set the Metronome level by rightclicking the metronome-icon.
Those crashes sound annoying, make sure you report them in the Bug Report threads, listing the conditions surrounding it. Bugs are getting squashed quicker and quicker now, so let's hope that one gets taken care of. Could you try if you can get the same results with another instrument? It might be a specific issue with that one, and that'd make it easier to fix, most likely.

Hi Mighty Pea,

Thanks for the reply! I haven't quite got my bearings in this forum yet, but I'll do my best to learn.

Concerning the drag'n'drop, I just can't get it to work. In Tracktion 2, for instance, I just drag a MIDI clip from the EZD MIDI browser and drop it into the EZD MIDI track - no peoblems at all.

In EXT2 I try to do the same: I create an EZD Instrument track, select a MIDFI clip from the EZD MIDI browser and drag it to the (as yet empty) MIDI track. Nothing...

Just to experiment, I recorded a few random notes in the EZD track to get the editing grid, and tried drag'n'drop again. Nada.

Is there som special trick with this that I'm missing?

If therer is, I'd really appreciate being put on the right track, as it were...

Best,

Joey

I'll report the crash on the bug thread.

Sorry, can't seem to find an appropriate thread for reporting bugs in EXT2 on Mac. Please give me a hint!

Also, just being curious: what does "FR" stand for in some thread titles?

Best,

Joey

Feature Request. And BR Is Bug report.
There's no mac-specific thread, I think, but there's a sticky that should tell you where to report bugs
