thanks Spacedad. I voted for KiTR - really liked the originality of the concept! Can't wait to see what you & Jacky will come up with next year...

Hi apropos, apropos wrote:For the life of me I can't figure out how to get a VSTi going through hypercyclic in Project5 !! Help ?
I had a quick look at the Project5 trial version, but it doesn't include a VST adapter, so can't test myself unfortunately. Anyhow, you could try two things:
1. if P5 supports midi-out from a VST and routing of that midi to another VSTi(like Sonar versions 5.2 and up do) then have a look at my sonar setup tutorial for another plugin (assuming P5 and Sonar would be similar). You can find this here: http://www.mucoder.net/tonespace/tonesp ... c150632292
2. if P5 doesn't support midi-out from a plugin, then you can still try installing a midi-loopback driver (e.g. google for "midi yoke" from midiox.com). Once you installed that you can then configure hypercyclic to send its midi to the port "midi yoke: NT1" for instance. Elsewhere, in P5 you should then maybe be able to read from that same "midi yoke: NT1" port and send that midi to another VSTi. Note that this second way adds more latency and timing fluctuations compared to the first way.
I realise that it can be frustrating to get all this midi routing to work. This is not my choice though, but due to the fact that midi output from VSTs is a more obscure part of the VST standard and many hosts do not really focus on that. In an ideal world VST midi output & routing would be as simple as audio output is today!

Hey, congratulations. I'm glad to see one of the few cross-platform plug-ins score so highly, and a MIDI plug-in at that. I'm also looking forward to what else you will come up with.
Cheers!

Hello,
This is my first post on the forum although I don't know how I missed out on all this for so long!
Just wanted to say that the hypercyclic arpeggiator is KILLER!!!!
Finally, a software arpeggiator with some life to it. Five minutes after installing it I've already started writing a track based on an arpeggio designed with the vst version. (the au doesn't seem to want to route properly).
I did have one instance of a stuck note, but hell...99% of the time it works great and I haven't seen anything like it before.
BTW...I use Ableton 6, a G4 powerbook, MOTU Ultralite sound card, axiom 49, and Rapture, Absynth, idrum, FM8 primarily.
Cheers

thanks Syrix, nice to know it's happy on your G4 - was running a bit blind there since I got myself a PPC mac only just last week.
The AU routing is not ideal, I know. Hopefully everything will become better once plugs & DAW's will start supporting the new midi-out feature of AUs in Leopard...

Pretty embarrassing but I can't figure out how to use Hypercyclic in FL7. Could someone please tell me how to set it up so that it outputs to a synth in FL studio. Thanks

Rowan, no need to be embarassed, it's not all that obvious in FL. Alas I don't have an exact description at hand for HC with FL but maybe this helps:
if you'd like to send hc midi output to an external (not built-in) synth plugin in FL, try the approach for one of my other plugins:
http://mucoder.net/tonespace/tonespace_ ... c150632291
Note this requires you also set midi-out to "VST Host" in hc.
if you want to send hc midi output to an internal (built-in) synth in FL,
there is no other way afaik than via a midi loopback adapter, such as midi-yoke. See also this post here: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 4d#2202172
I'll try to add FL instructions to the manual for a future version, but that could take some time...

hi biscuit13,
ts2 development is ongoing, but not progressing as fast as I'd like, due to obligations to other projects (you know, the ones that pay the rent
)
I'm still absolutely committed to releasing this - and as soon as I have news I'll post it here & on the http://www.mucoder.com site.
cheers
