Hi all... I'm still trying to get the new skins to work...I've re-downloaded the RC3 install from AQ's web site, I've reinstalled/uninstalled multiple times and always making sure that the new skin (png file) is renamed correctly AND in the same file as the dll is...I've even tried it on 2 of my PCs, but nothing seems to work. Now on page 4 the Admiral mentions the following: User customizeable backgrounds in .PNG format. Just place a 1000x750 file named Poly-AnaBG.png in the same directory as Poly-Ana.dll...when its stated thet the png file should be in the same diectory as Poly-Ana.dll is that meaning in the same file folder? Or is this something else? Thanks for any assistance. I'm feeling pretty stupid at the moment, because it's probably something simple that I'm not understanding. Anyway thanks for any more assistance! Jaime

 I love the grey skin! I really like what you've done with the area around the knobs. Taking the black away really helps the knobs stand out. I would beg for a "non-scratched" version without the wear and tear. Thanks for sharing! :D

jcn7 just place the .png in the same folder as the PolyAna .dll :D

Hi Teksonik, thanks for the help...there are only 4 items in the Admiral Quality file when I install it, they are: Poly-AnaFX.dll, readme_Poly-Ana, UninstallPoly-Ana, and Poly-Ana.dll...there are not any other items, not even a .png...so I renamed one of the 2 new skins to Poly-AnaBG.png and placed it inside the Admiral Quality folder (which resides in my VST folder). When I open up Poly-Ana in Chainer, Orion Platnum 7.1, FL Studio 7, Reaper or other hosts, it still shows the original skin...and no matter what I do it won't change over to the new skin. I can actually double click on the .png file that I renamed and placed inside of the Admiral Quality file and it shows a picture of what the new skin looks like (minus all the knobs), but again, it just loads the default skin when I load Poly-Ana in any of my hosts. I'm still at a loss...Again, thanks for the help though...I'll keep scrating my head on this one...maybe I'll think of something...PS. since I uninstalled and reinstalled, do I need to enter my registration code again? Thanks again everyone. Jaime

Since there was no .png in the folder beforehand I can only assume you don't have the latest version since it drops the background .png during install. This is a strange one. I'm sure you'll get it sorted. Good luck! :D (oh are you resigistered at the AQ forums? Might get faster answers there).

When you click on the PolyAna name on the gui to bring up the options does it say PolyAna 1.1RC3 at the bottom of the yellow box?

Sorry , got to shut down for the night but I'll check back in the morning. I'm sure you'll have it working by then. :)

It reports the version at the parameter display field in the top when you launch it. Should say "Admiral Quality Poly-Ana 1.1RC3" Any earlier version won't load the .png.

Not sure what the problem is jcn7, you're doing all the right things. So far you're the only one who's reported this.

Anyone else?

It does show at the top of Poly-Ana 1.1 RC3, I did re-download it from your site earlier this evening just to make sure I had the latest version...Yes indeed this is a strange one...I kind of feel I'm in a twilight Zone episode...I think at this point I'm going to sleep on it, maybe I'll think of a solution in my dreams. Again, I want to thank you all for your patience and assistance...hopefully we'll get it figured out, in the mean time it still plays and sounds great...so thank you all, and to all a good night. Try moving the entire Poly Ana folder to another folder (if you use sub-folders) within the main VST folder. Chainer will rescan Poly Ana then.

Backup your Chainer datebase file beforehand, sometimes when stuff is rescanned it can mess with Chainer's ability to open presets in the correct synth.

Alternatively move just the dll file and the png file to a new spot for a rescan.

Hi Hunterkiller, actually I did all those things you mentioned earlier also...none of which worked. I also just downloaded the 2 skin files again just to make sure that my 1st downloads were good...still no change. Here's a question to all...when you install Poly Ana, how many items are in your Admiral Quality file? I only have 4 listed items: Poly-AnaFX.dll, readme_Poly-Ana, UninstallPoly-Ana, and Poly-Ana.dll...those are the only items listed. I have to manually place a .png item in the Admiral Quality file and that gives me 5 items listed. But in my case having the .png item in there dosen't seem to make any difference... I still only get the default skin. So again my question is how many items are supposed to be listed in the Admiral Quality file when it is 1st installed? Thanks! Jaime

Jaime, that's all normal. All thats in there are the 2 .dlls and the readme doc and the uninstaller. The default background is built into the .dlls. Custom backgrounds are loaded if they're detected in that directory/folder.

Again, you sound like everything is correct. Although you mentioned chainer? What happens if you put the .png in chainer's directory???

Hi Mike, I tried what you mention in re: to Chainer, but still have the same result...this does seem to be an odd one...again thanks! I'll ponder this in my slumber tonight. Jaime

Does it work if not in Chainer?
