When I was like 8 or 9 my older bro played drums for a couple of rock bands and he use to always play complex patterns all over the place. As he would walk home with me from school he'd tap out rhythms on the road, the traffic light pole, this riccety old fence, these metal stairs at the back of our complex (arm over his head), this ratty dumpster, the glass window, the wooden door, the plant pots and when we got in the cups and the kitchen counter. All the while he kept in perfect sync even though the ryhthm would change, syncopate and variate. For him it was easy as his god was Neil Peart and all but I ofcourse could never frikkin do it..

I've seen several vids over the years of the same kinda thing being done from other pro drummers and was wondering if there was a stick rhythm magic sample pack floating around out there (with accompanying patterns please :hihi:)..

Any help is appreciated..

You've just described that ANYTHING can make sound when hit with a drum stick. So you're looking for a sample pack containing such things?

Either search the web for odd percussion sounds of odd objects, or get out your portable recorder and go hit things with a drum stick. Then ask your brother to record some patterns, and you've got the whle enchilada ;-)

Its kinda hard for me to record him as he's in London England and I'm in Toronto Canada. I guess i could send him a recorder hmm.. I just figured there would be a sample pack for this .. I will look again.

Or maybe a kit with the player tapping the rim and everything but the actual snare??

Basically a kit of everything hit by a rhythm stick would be > 10000000 Gb
I can give you a trick on how to make each sample sound a bit different in a repeating pattern

1. You take a standard sample of a rim shot or snare hit or in your case whatever source.

2. You assign an effect channel to it

3. You load a flanger and tweak it to make the effect go very slow.

4. Switch down the volume of the effect to 3% or so

5. Now every hit sounds like it's different from each other.

easy does it

Well I know which one of those I really need but.. What you guys are saying is if I gave you say a Mandolin you could sit down and just churn out usable riffs? I'm talented but not that talented.. If youz are I'm jealous and you must own NO sample packs.. Impressive ..

Someone please tell me theres something like this..
