I think what I really need is one of these :D ;

Bit out of my price range but would surely take care of everything. I think the digital mixer allows for all kinds of routing configurations so it should take care of what I'm trying to acheive no problem. I wouldn't need a mixer with this or a patchbay. I could even buy a small phono amp (Studio Spares for about £20) & hook my SL1210 turntable straight into this. Would be nice. I'll start saving ;-)

Sure, that Mackie interface looks pretty good. The Motu 828mkII is pretty similar. I've been using mine for at least 5 years now, and I've never had any problems with it, even after going through three completely new PC hardware setups.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

How's the digital mixing/routing with the 828? From your experience will I be able to do what I want without problems?
