Haven't visited Kvr in a while. I was thinking I could try Polyana for my favorite type of sound : string synth : )

And Thorau (or Construkx), your patch bank is totally cool, many great electronic tones in there. Interesting timbres and mostly very playable, NICE!!!Thanks for sharing! I really like them!

And also the patch bank from Cosmus is very good! I can't believe that "scream" sound, incredible! Cool work there, Cosmus!

"Scream" blows me away too. It seems to be screaming a different word every time (excellent use of Poly-Ana's new Analog Drift feature!) It sounds like a chimeric human-cat calling to it's "Dad? Dad? DAAAD?" for help.

Playing with that patch actually helped me find a bug, Analog Drift was using power on silent voices - I noticed that that sound, which has a high polyphony setting, was idling at more CPU than it should. That will be fixed in the next RC. (In the short term, you can lower the polyphony to save some power unless you're playing 12 note scream-chords.)

I'd love to have that patch too, send it in and it'll probably become one of the new defaults.

Note that Poly-Ana patch (.pap) and bank (.pab) files are just text and you can edit them by hand. You can easily assemble patches into banks in a text editor.

There's another interesting bug/feature currently in Poly-Ana, and that's that you can load incomplete patches and they won't overwrite any existing settings that they don't specify. This lets you make a template. Say you like to set the mod mixers up in some standard way, you could make a patch file that only has those settings and loading it would set those, but leave the rest of the current patch intact.

This is actually a bit of a problem because it means older patches from 1.0 may not reset some of the new 1.1 parameters. In fact, here's a good reason to use Tek's empty bank! To clean out your bank of any "new" settings before loading old version 1.0 patches.

As always played live and untounched, with all the mistakes in there : I can't use a sequencer properly, coming from a tracker background and playing keyboards only live aftwerards...

As for the patch itself, it's more of a complex patch 80% composed of Poly-Ana in combination with... you know him well AQ... aciddose's Xhip, so there are two instances of Poly-Ana and 2 instances of Xhip (at a much lower volume though).

It actually sounds more like a strings machine with Poly-Ana than with Xhip alone, (but then again I love strings machine). I can provide the bare patch Poly-Ana patch, but of course it won't sound the same as the one demoed in the mp3.

I'd still love to have that patch. Thanks! Just amazing sounding stuff. I play a lot like that myself. I just bought a JX8P a couple of days ago and strings are the first thing I go for. That and the "Bettedavisized" sound.

(Poly beats the CRAP out of the 8P BTW, especially in the handling of velocity - the 8P CLICKS! when voices are stolen with a new velocity! I worked that problem out of Poly back in early Beta. If the new note is quiter than the current release stage, the attack segment will actually go DOWN instead of up!)

Anyone in Toronto want to buy a JX8P with programmer? After 2 days I've pretty much extracted all research value from it. Nice board, but I'm out of space to set them all up.
