That lappy is tiny, whats its dimensions?
And how's its spec?
I've been looking for something really portable

Its a black Asus eee. Ive got one, but in white. They're bout an inch longer and wider than a videocassete. Weighs about a kilo, and can fit in the pocket of my combat pants!Quiggers wrote:That lappy is tiny, whats its dimensions?

The spec out of the box is a modern (ie it has SSE etc) 900Mhz Celeron running at 600Mhz. Screen is 7", at 800x480, although there's seemingly a hacked driver to run it higher. It has a VGA out, and can run an external monitor at 1280x1024. I just have my desktop set to 1024x800, though, and scroll within that. Base config is 512Mb RAM (user-upgradeable) and a 4Gb solid state hard drive (not replaceable). New models with 1Gb/8Gb are supposedly due soon. They have an SDHC memory slot (I have an 8Gb memory card in mine), ethernet, 54g wireless and 3USB ports.
They ship with Linux, so you have to install Windows yourself, which can replace Linux, or (with some work) boot from SDHC or a USB drive. XP works well on it, but its best to use NLite to make a slimmed-down version. The onboard soundcard works fine with ASIO4All.
An idiot on Set Theory:

wife kicked me into the basement to turn office into nursery (not yet but soon we are going to try). sorry for the shitty quality pics - taken with iphone in low light.

not shown: fender fs-250 dreadnaught 6 string acoustic guitar, prs ce-22 (not the custom the cheap one), and a fender beginner p-bass.
what a difference it makes to have these studio monitors setup like this. finally extended, less fatigue music making -- headphones are great too but i like the air and the temperature without cans on.
the speakers are setup the best i know how. anything is na improvement. i know they aren't equidistant and perfect triangle, being wider between each other than the distance to me but i can't get it setup perfectly distant because this desk is so wide and i dont have any room behind it. this is going to have to do
i'm curious to run some acoustic analysis thing like ARC to see if i have any other problems. any ARC owners out there can say how much CPU use it takes and how much of a difference it truly makes?

@quiggers
the lappy has the size of a dvd-box except it has thicker belly
too bad that there isn't a keyrig25 with mini-keys to fit the size
with the eeePC
-
actually the reason for getting these was:
1. good value price
2. power button(s) on top
3. the built in frequency filter
(for corners and walls, since i do not have much space)
back then when i bought the M1's the KRK's were still up with the price
(like € 399,-?!) if i had a choice NOW i'd probably would go for the KRK RP5
since they've dropped the price down to (€ 149,- each) equals € 299,- for one
pair. too bad that the price drop of KRK came in late for the EU
i wanted those so bad, since yellow is my fav. color
