There's lots more info coming in future episodes with specifics and all the stuff that everyone is requesting. But note that the complete info won't be made available until we ship in September.
The website is purposely called a 'teaser' for this instrument. This perhaps isn't the typical way of marketing a synth that some may be used to. So if this style is too 'Hollywood' and not really your thing, that's cool - you can just tune back in on September 15th when we'll have all the info available online and will also be shipping the instrument too.
Cheers,

I like the videos, the light heartedness of it all.. awesome sounds as well! It inspires me to do weird sampling with the K2000RS I just bought. Mmmmm.. a light bulb, not bad..
Cheers!

Eric, what might be cool is to give us a brief explanation on how your product timeline works. What does it take to get from the NAMM intro to September. Beta testing? Still creating new sounds? Marketing/Packaging, etc. I don't know what it takes to do this kind of release (beyond the years you have spent thusfar). We might stop crying and complaining???
OK, unlikely, but still, some of us may get a better appreciation of what it takes to do what you are doing.
Thanks Daddy <grin>

Well, I really liked the video. Yeah, maybe we've heard some of these sounds on the earlier web videos, but the sound quality was much better. I loved the segment with the song made from just the light bulb samples. I can see all of these sounds working their way into my music sooner or later. So what if we only hear 1% or so of the sounds before September? Half the fun of working with a new synth is exploring the sounds. From what I've seen so far, I think Omnisphere is going to be a synth I'll take the time to really learn and program, rather than just playing the factory presets. The Roland D50 was like that for me. I haven't seen an instrument since that excited me like that. Until now.spectrum wrote:There's lots more info coming in future episodes with specifics and all the stuff that everyone is requesting. The omnisphere project is something new and very refreshing. I appreciate it - all of it. But seeing the lightbulb I'm thinking what about sampling that barn door down the road or my shopping bag? You know? I've got insane things sampled too but obviously no steam engine.
But actually I'm not complaining as such. I'm in line with credit card in hand come September.

I defintely do not expect it all at once.

Thanks for the recent posts and clarifications Eric.
I personally love the "hollywood approach".
Any company that invests that much time and effort into marketing their product is definitely worth me looking into it IMO. Job well done guys...

It's cool how Stevie has never lost his hunger to explore the latest in technology. I still remember him demoing his Synclavier on an episode of the Cosby Show twenty years ago, sampling the Huxtable family's various vocalizations and making a little groove out of it.
