Does anyone know of any sites with audio from public domain horror movies? I believe there was one site called Westgate Necromantic. I looked there earlier, but I couldn't find any samples.

Westgate Necromantic (http://www.westgatenecromantic.com/index.html) is website of Daniel Kemp. I am not sure if you meant the same web place but I can't remember if Daniel had some "public domain horror movies" there and I know this website quite long time. Maybe we don't mean the same website?

Daniel created the sound library Anomaly for Wusikstation and it has really some "horror" sounds :) I love this sound library
If you own Wusikstation (this sound library is probably available also in another format) you can get many "horror" sounds.

And did you check this page?

There are some Daniel's demos mp3 of his music.

I was looking at Anomaly earlier. I think I might buy it, since I've been meaning to use more atomspheric sounds in my music. Thanks for the info. :)

I might be thinking of a different site than WN. I could've sworn someone at KVR ran a site with a bunch of .wav files from horror movies at one time.

Sickle was collecting them for a Reaktor project at one point, AFAIR.

Almost misread thread title as horrible movie samples. Which might fit in nicely with a couple other threads running concurrently.

Westgate Necromantic is the site of my wife, Leilah Wendell, and myself. We've never had any horror samples up there, just art and excerpts from our books and samples of my music.

It is all that is left of the art gallery (Westgate - the House of Death) we had in New Orleans from 1989 to Hurricane Katrina. :-o

I wish I could help you with your search for horror movie samples, and thanks for checking out the site..... :D

You lost the whole gallery? I'm really sorry to hear that. There's some beautiful work on the site.

Try Outer Limits:

Listen to the audio demos, especially number 2, The Horror... Gives me chills everytime I listen to it...

Edit: Doh, didn't see you said public domain... sorry :smack:

Ah! I've looked at Outer Limits before, I had forgotten about it. Thanks! VSTs/sample discs are fine, actually. I just meant public domain as opposed to using samples from movies that were under copyright.

We still have the art.... :D Except for the main piece of the gallery which was a seven foot tall sculpture of the Angel of Death built on a human skeleton - a 100 year old ex-dentist from England.....

We repaired the house and sold it and have moved several times since then....

It was in reaction to Katrina that I started Anomaly..... :D
