Question for Emulator X'perts

Am correct in that after searching through the basses in the proteus and proteusX banks that there are no multi-layer basses?? I dont see any assignments on the crossfade by velocity page.
Most of the decent patches seem to be doing it with 3-5 samples and lots of envelope, filters, and/or pitch modulation.


Can anybody reccomend a samples set for this sampler that has a nice P-Bass (even DI is OK) sample set thats multi-velocity and not $150 and up ??( don't want to invest that much yet as it's half of what a VST'i like trilogy would be!)
I'm fairly new at this ( a year or two) and don't know if I'm going to enjoy mapping it all out ( how long should it take ; approximately?)

Also , any advice on how to set up articulations and slides ?? put them on different channels ?
