Agreed, interesting prospect indeed
There's probably a shortage of beer in the Anaheim area now.

I thought there would be a little more interest in this bad boy. :uhuhuh:

Does anyone have any news? I, for one, can't wait for this. :hyper:

In the current SonicState podcast Dave mentions that he hopes to release the M-Tron Pro at the Frankfurt MESSE in March/April. Hope that helps.

Oh GOD, I hope so! :D

Let's just hope this doesn't end up like VSM. Remember that YouTube video from NAMM 2007 where he said he hoped to have VSM out by March (of '07)? And it didn't come out until, like, NOVEMBER?

Then again, the delay was, I think, partly because they were fine-tuning the new sample engine for VSM (so they'll probably just import that codework into M-Tron Pro) and partly because of the so-called "offensive" patch names.

I guess as long as there's no "Smegmatron" preset made, we should be seeing this very soon indeed. :hihi:

That is fairly painless. I can wait until then. :hyper:

I'll hand the guys at GForce and M-Audio their asses on a plate, if they take any longer! :box: :hihi:

If I were a betting man, I'd say that many of the development issues they had to solve for VSM mean than the MTP instrument should have inherited them and therefore already be much further along in the pipeline. It'll still take a while for boxed product manufacture and distribution, but you can avoid that by going online and buying direct for them when it's released, if you were keen to get it asap.

So, I wouldn't expect nearly the delays that VSM had - however, you never know what crops up during development, so...

It's cool, because when VSM was announced, I thought that it would be great if they could do a similar thing for the M-Tron - dual layers, tape reverse, sample offsets, delay, filters - I reckon it's going to be a much more flexible and inspirational instrument than the first Tron...

The concept was, but not the codebase.

The guy who was developing the Megatron moved on to other things... by an odd coincidence he's now doing 3d sound with the same group of people I worked with before I worked with him.

This one is based on the VSM codebase.

I prefer the name Megatron though... M-Tron pro just doesn't have the same ring to it!
Gigatron - it is a couple of gigs on disk anyway. Better than M-Tron Pro.
Titatron - hmmm

It's strange that the only place on the web that has any info on this at all is the video on Sonic State. I wonder when the Gforce site will have anything?
