Hmm, not there yet, guess I won't be using epointz, ah well.Squids on 2/16/2008 wrote: SampleTron goes on pre-order this week on esoundz btw.
In the meantime:
I have the standard tron sounds (8V choir, boys, flute, mixed String, Mk2 Brass, Mk2 Violin, Watcher) and what's in SS2 (which includes Chamberlain cello, trumpet and flute). Besides what I have, what are the 8-10 or so "best" tron sounds available for download?

(also looking for novachord, clavioline, and Omnisoundz2, but knows that a watched pot won't boil and that a Squid only has so many tentacles!)

Good point. Okay, because of that we'll wait until TUESDAY to change the system and put SampleTron up for pre-order on Monday (its done btw just building installers and final testing). This way you have ONE DAY to use your epointz on physical products...
Well, keep in mind that this change is only for automatic epointz application. You can always ask to use SOME of your epointz toward a physical product but it has to be with a salesman so it can be managed. There's only so much we can take off of a physical product we buy and previously the $50 limit help self-manage that. Now that we got rid of the limit it changes things quite a bit. You can earn enough to get a whole product for FREE but it will have to be a downloadable sound product (and by the way, those instruments and Omni will be available as download products). But, if you want to apply your epointz to a physical product then a salesman can tell you on a case by case basis how much of your epointz you can apply to it... it's the only way to do this without going out of business! Haha. It's not a charity it is a system... a very progressive cutting edge BENEFIT TO THE CUSTOMER marketing system. Think about it, marketing costs go to benefiting you directly instead of advertising more to reach you... YOU advertise to each other and get it. Get it? It's worked well for us but now that there are no limits I think some people who are good at spreading the word can have all of their sounds for free... just get people to use you as a referral is all!

That's very cool, Squids! As always, beyond the call of duty.
I'm still wondering what the best downloadable trons are - I may pick them up while I wait for Sampletron ... or I may leave the epointz for Omnisoundz since I know that's coming...

Super cool, any chance that we can get a sound/sample list of what's in Sampletron (like on the Squids Tron page?)

A soundlist would be great, as would some info about the release of V2 by itself. Now that you've announced the Rare Instruments collection and put SampleTron up for pre-order, some of us with Tron V1 would like to know when the Tron V2 material is coming by itself.

Hi,
Just wondering what the differences were between Squids Tron Vol. 1 and Sampletron. I purchased Squids last year. but can't use it since I switched to an Intel mac. Wondering whether I should buy Sampletron or just get a version of Sampletank to play the Squids Tron in.
Thanks,
A

To use your Squids Tron you should get SampleTank. I originally thought SampleTron would be able to read it but this seems to not be the case. The sounds have different IDs completely. So, even the sounds that came from Squids Tron inside SampleTron are actually reprogrammed differently and have different IDs that SampleTron can read (and ST) but not the other way around or it could get confusing.jacandy1 wrote:Hi,

Here's what is different about the way they are programmed for SampleTron. A sort of "Best of Squids Tron" is within it but they are programmed where they are both looped and non-looped 8 seconds all in the same sound. You just turn a knob to get "sustain" (default otherwise is "purist 8 seconds- at least on Mellotron and Chamberlin sounds). I know we didn't include the non-looped Ampex and Chamberlin stuff though. The 8 seconds is done by a hold function instead. For the completely esoteric sound of the tape ending though your Squids Tron will occassionally offer a quirky noise or two that isn't in SampleTron. The extras like harmonium and toy piano are also not included in SampleTron (but you get plenty of NEW extras like Stylophone, VP330, 360 Systems etc.)
Over half of SampleTron is completely new (and basically the same as Squids Tron Vol. 2). But it is important to note that Squids Tron Vol. 2 is not coming out in SampleTank format! SampleTron IS Squids Tron Vol. 2 (plus the best of Vol. 1) in SampleTank format. You will see that Squids Tron Vol. 2 in Reason format and whatever other formats we do will be the same price as your discounted upgrade from Squids Tron Vol. 1 to SampleTron is. So there is no reason to make two products (plus, trust me if you are a Squids Tron Vol. 1 user you will WANT the updated programming we did on the sounds we chose from it as they do more now... also some knobs to adjust noise amount and tape artifacts... not to mention an inspiring vintage interface).
If you want to upgrade from Squids Tron Vol. 1 to SampleTron just email Allen. allen (at) esoundz (dot) com. We'll be doing an email about it soon but you can order it now. Anyone going to Musik Messe can hear SampleTron at the show. I won't be there but someone will at the IK booth. It's done and shipping pretty soon! So... pre-order it and be the first to get it!
New audio demos for this and also Rare Instruments coming as soon as I can... maybe this week? I hope. That part is FUN!
