Plucked double bass patch for Shortcircuit Free

This patch contains a number of samples of acoustic bass at 2 velocities and across the normal range of an acoustic bass. Really low notes have a nice blend of string slap. No. I don't have any decent mics.

Over the years I have accumulated a ton of samples, from public domain sources. Most on CD's and many unlabeled. I can't pin down the source of these particular samples. I recently just started putting a few instruments together as an experiment.

thanks for the samples. They sound great, although I had to assign the notes and velocities by hand. I don't know why the root notes don't match up with the file names. I'm new to sampling, so I may have done something wrong.
But anyway, here's a link to the .fxp file that has everything sorted out, with the velocity break at 85, and the slide down on C1, slide up on D1. DblBass.fxp

Ok got it working, a big thanks to jpumphandle for these samples, sounds great. Ive been looking for this sort of thing for ages.

And thanks to me109 for the new .fxp.

I loaded it up and had a sweet chilled baseline utilising the slide within about a minute. I slapped a bit of Lives Autowah on there controlled via amplitude....sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

Stupid newbie question: I've downloaded the fxp file and the samples (thanks very much) but how do I load them into Shortcircuit? I'm afraid I find the simplest step the most difficult.

Depends on your host. It should have a feature to open a program or bank file. Usually a browser window with type set to .FXP or .FXB. Then just locate the patch file. (s/b in a folder with the samples).

I have the .fxp file in the same folder as the wavs but when I press the "load" button in shortcircuit the dialog box refuses to list the fxp file.

you don't have to load the .fxp from the "load" button in shortcircuit, you must use the "load .fxp" command in you host (usually you can find it on the windows that contains shortcircuit)

Thank you for your help, but I am extremely dense and can't find a "load .fxp" option. My DAW is Reaper. I may cry...

Any other suggestions for an unmusical eejit?
