Still have a lot of fanfare to add to the website but version 1.1 of Poly-Ana went official today. Get it in the usual place:

Evaluation reset! So if you tried it before and it expired, even in the recent Beta, you can try it again for one more week, free and fully functioning.

Poly-Ana 1.1 is completely patch compatible with version 1.0, and adds the following new features:

New features in Poly-Ana 1.1:

- VST 2.4 compatible
- Filter Cutoff and Resonance Gang buttons. Filter 2 can follow Filter 1's CF and Resonance controls.
- Cutoff knob smoothing, no more "zipper noise" when automating filter sweeps.
- Oscillator Phase Retrigger buttons. (For a demo try turning on all 3 on the "Default Synth Brass" patch.)
- Oscillator Phase Offset knob. Used to control starting phase of retriggered waveform. Also note the FM effect on the oscillator when knob is being moved.
- Oscillator PWM Source and Amount controls now share double duty with new PM (Phase Mod) controls. This opens up the world of "FM Synthesis" to Poly-Ana, but controlled in the familiar, classic analog style.
- Quality control has moved to front panel and is now automatically adaptive to different project sample rates. The default 192 setting is the same as the old default of 4X at 44.1kHz or 48kHz. Note that while you can select, save and recall settings below your project sample rate, Poly-Ana can't actually render audio below the host's project sample rate.
- Analog drift knob. Randomly detunes the oscillator pitches and filter cutoffs over time.
- Saturation button. A "smooth" saturator. Limits Poly-Ana's output to max at 0 dB. Not recommended as a substitute for a real mastering compressor, but can be used as a hard clipping effect (see the "MDK Kick" preset).
- DC Cut button. Removes unwanted DC levels from output. On by default.
- Pink Noise available now as well as White Noise.
- Amplifier Pan Modulations now share double duty with new Amplitude Modulation.
- Anti-click filter button added to Amplifiers.
- Added 3 way rectifier switch to Mod Mixers. Adds Fullwave or Halfwave Rectification between the S&H and the Lag filter.
- FX version no longer rectifies the IN-1 and IN-2 audio input modulation sources. You can use the new rectifier in the mod mixers to create this effect now, or use the full positive to negative range of the input waveform.
- Fixed bug involving pitchbend initialization across multiple MIDI channels.
- Fixed a voice assignment bug in PUNI mode.
- Fixed problem with optional Mod Source dropdowns not matching dials on some settings.
- Fixed bug in MIDI polyphonic pressure messages, poly-pressure now works as it should.
- User-customizeable .png format background images.
- CPU optimizations.

For those of you with screen size issues, I'm very sorry that I couldn't get scrollbars working for this version. I tried but too many issues came up that I didn't want to include into this release, which is largely tested and stable. But a completely skinnable GUI is high on the list for the next major update.

I'll be releasing some image files to help you make background .pngs in the next few days, you might want to wait for those if you have any ambitious plans to make the ultimate custom Poly-Ana background. :)

Hope you like her. And if you do, please buy a license. Fridge is empty. :help:

Whoo! :hyper: I've been waiting for this! :D

Do I need to bother with all the authorization stuff again or can I just install the new one over the old?

Peace 8)

Just install right over the old. 1.1 is a complete replacement for 1.0 by the way, there's no need or reason to keep both versions as the new one is entirely patch/project-compatible and sound-identical to ver 1.0. And no, once its authorizied it's authorized forever on that machine. Reinstalling doesn't force it to "forget you". The new version will wake up already happily authorized.

And some words for crackers(if you read KVR). Please do not crack this product. You know Admiral Quality is not a big company, but one man.

I've got to say, since purchasing Poly-Ana during the RC phase, I've not used a synth more. Thanks Mike.

Yes. But...

you see, there have even been attempts to crack my uncrippled, unprotected freeware programs, which I found highly amusing...

... so I fear that these words won't reach anybody except those who wouldn't try to crack it anyway.

Does that include the new backgrouds? I tried clicking on the link to the new background colours on your home page and nothing happened-not even an error message.

Thanks

This is the great thing about the new backgrounds. I don't have to make them! ;)

But yes, will be putting a selection of favorites on the website soon. For now the best ones are by Totlitoto in the Poly-Ana beta thread.

Will also be supplying the community with some separate image files to make it easier to make backgrounds out of layers. So hang on a few days, backgrounds will come...

In the mean time, you can start making your own by tweaking these files:

if you would remove the HUGE destination dials and replace them with drop down menus, it would be a million time better GUI tho, its so small i cant even think of trying to read anything on it

Poly-Ana already gives you the option. It's in the Global Options panel.

ok, i may try it then(does it use the space to "embiggen" the other controls?)

everyone with windows should buy this so that admiral quality can buy a mac and get to portin'

Nice! I'll be installing this when I get home. Just to clarify, I just changed out a bunch of hardware in my system. Does Poly-Ana use hardware IDs/profiles/etc. to generate the license? I bought 1.0, and the RCs had different numbers. Maybe the full release is different? Thanks! Can't wait to try it.
