Hi All

This piece uses (secret) Analog Sequencer tools , Lakota and Irish flutes, Digeridoo, hand percussion, Fender musicmaster bass, and Piano ( using Pianoteq ) and some organic effects from my EML modular and creative kitchen sampling :-)

Is the mix OK..is the percussion too hot? This is one of the first pieces that I actually played a hand percussion. It seems to really add however, and may not need a trap kit.

Hey Tim,

This sounds great. I love the improvisation type vibe you got working there. You sound like you had fun recording it.

I'm listening on laptop speakers, but the mix sounds balanced.

Love the digerdoo and all the percussion used.

It all works for me

This sounds really exotic, I reckon it would work well as a score for an exploration film moving from open planes to flowing rivers surrounded by dense vegetation, a cross between South Australia, parts of Africa and the Amazon - so hot climate reaches teaming with richness of life.

Very enjoyable listen, the mix sounds good too. :)

Best regards,

Thanks fitch!
I think it's also a headphone epic as I like to call it. You will hear all the stereo hocketing :-)

It first started out as a performance using an analog sequencer tool I am helping to develope, then I added piano which gave it a different flavour as well as the hand percussion. It was fun playing real bass and flutes too.

I guess it is a journey piece, especially when it breaks off from the piano, then flies away, then comes back down with the piano part.

The piano was interesting, as it was hard trying to figure out a pattern that was not really major or minor and came across that 'exotic' pattern.

:-) :-)

Well..its those metal swirlings you hear which were metal spoons against pan lids or wok bottoms or mixing bowls. There's good supply of unusual sounds in the kitchen..including the kitchen sink!

However..I just played this in the car..and I think the bass is too high..it really shakes the car :-) Sounds good on the Behringer Truth monitors though!
