I do understand. Sorry, I do think the products you have are great and I do know about being not willing to spend on something that repeats what I already have.
Yes, these are just samples. They are mapped for Kontakt2, but more formats are supposed to come soon. As for the ambience, it's controlled through the Kontakt scripting, so I don't know how that will be done in other formats. But I'm sure something creative can be worked out.

The ambience is just another sample. So with Kontakt, we scripted it so that every time you hit the key for the close mic, it also triggers the far ambience mic. You can control how much or how little ambience.
This product is very different then AD and other libraries in that it is processed with real analog gear and mix ready. These are not raw samples. It is also different because it has authentic models of 11 different classic drum sounds, with more to come.
Thanks for your interest, I would suggest waiting for the BFD package to come out.

Yeah, I was just saying that you won't have the same convenience of the script in other samplers so you will have to use a different method of changing the ambience. Not a big deal really though as you probably won't be changing it too many times in the middle of a song or anything.

Hi Slate :
First of all, I think this is THE drum library I must have, but before I order it, I have to ask some questions. I'm confused because I was supossing that this product is for replace audio only. I can't see any Cymbals Info at your page, so I was supossing that there is no Cymbal in it. But here, you say there are drums and Cymbals. Great. I don't speak much English, sorry if this questions are so "noobies"
You said here :
- MAPPINGS FOR ALL MAJOR SAMPLERS such as KONTAKT, HALION, EXS, REASON, STRUCTURE, and more
But I don't see this info at your page (or I can't find it ).
Where can I find the complete list of sampler mappings you provide with the 2.0 version ? I notice that the demos are made by using Kontakt 2 Mapping. If I order 2.0, I get a kontakt 2 mapping in this package ?
The last one : I can see two products icon at your page, but no matter wich one I choose, the page send me to the " Steven Slate Drums 2.0 Signature DrumKits". I suposse that there is only one and new product that put together the other two. I'm I right ?. I don't speak much English, sorry if this questions are so "noobies". I apreciatte your help.
Thanks in advanced.

rufo, my apologies, the webpage is still being updated and much of what you see is from the prior version. It will be updated today.
The 2.0 pack has a complete cymbal range and is mapped for Kontakt2/3. It will soon have mappings for Structure and EXS as well. BFD2 is also being developed officially.

Just another short and dirty demo using a bit more of a straight pattern. You can hear the toms during the fill at bar 10.
Nothing special, but just a different kit and a different style. Real demos are still coming once I get over being sick and can actually hear well enough to do some music(been sick for 9 days now).
Anyways, enjoy!

I have been waiting for superior v2....this looks very very nice though. There was talk of it being mapped for Session Drummer 2, how would the ambience be controlled?

Well, Session Drummer loads sfz files, but I'm not sure to what extent. I've been looking into it to try and see how it would work. I wonder if SD allows control over layers with a MIDI controller? If so, you would use the mod wheel or something. Otherwise, it would have to be different.

Can someone tell me more about the Steven Slate samples for BFD2?
When will it be released? Where do i buy it?
Is it the same samples in a BFD2 format or a large new pack?
Tell me more, tell me more.......

Steve (or others), I'm curious for a quick piece of advice on this. When using your drums, one advantage is the pre-processing, so they sound great out of the box.
But do you have any thoughts on what to do on the drum mix as a whole? I noticed that on some of your mp3 demos, you mentioned some massive compression, which I can hear. When doing drum mix compression, do you want the attack slow enough to let the initial transient through, in most cases? Is a "pumping" effect common in rock styles?
I'm just trying to get my head around some of the drum mix basics to make better use of the samples in a mix context.

Hey guys, BFD2 is in development and you'll get the same preset kits as in the current Kontakt version but in BFD2 format (which may be a lot slicker to most people).
For Sonar SD2, we are working with Cakewalk to add a mod that would layer the Z4s in it.
For mix compression, 99% of the demos you hear actually have VERY little compression, just a tad of slow attack fast release to GLUE the whole together. The demo that DOES have a lot of compression is the Led Zeppelin one, in which case, you may want to try a faster attack, higher ratio, and faster release to make it PUMP!!

Steve,
Which 5 modeled kits does the Signature drumkits LE package include?
One day your webpage said Metallica was included and now it does not.
Can we pick the 5?
I'm confused
