- do you mean rendering an individual clip - including Fx, Mixer channel etc?

not negative but rude.
not my intention at all - a language barrier then I think... :?

I just want to add that it's really difficult for me to walk the thin line between sounding impolite and not making clear how important I consider something. Most of what I wrote concearing rendering here in this thread now I already mentioned numerous times before - but things tend to get lost so easily - so when I consider something to be really important (for XT2's success as well as for our comfort) I start my typical rant threads about it in the hope that people back me up so while Jorgen might not feel too charmed by it he gets important info from it. It's so easy to overlook the important stuff in the flood of feature-requests (that's the main reason why I'm not too much a friend of public beta-testing - 'Zu viele Köche verderben den Brei' as a German proverb says ('too many cooks spoil the meal'))
well said.
btw: good points

had to render something today because of the crappy audio-bug that still isn't fixed (the one where the sample-playback continues even though the part has ended) and it was just CRAP (had a huge gain-loss b.t.w. I just couldn't get rid off).

Jorgen, please either get the audio-stuff sorted or just be straight about it and remove audio-tracks altogether for the time being.

I thought it would take a time,
but my guess is also that the 'Coming next' will become a little bit longer than it actually is immediatly before the next beta gets uploaded...
Jorgen is always good for such little surprises (be it intentionally or because of - ahem, pardon me - er ...other reasons)

Yearning for a new beta today much more than the last times...

The problem is:

it just ain't working - I barely find my way through the debris of bugs and misconceptions so what's a noob gonna do?

I've been rendering more stuff lately and getting mildly annoyed by a few things. Two of them have already been mentioned and are workflow issues, one hasn't and doesn't really have a practical workaround.

* Render to wav and render to new audio track really belong behind the same button, along with render to existing audio track.
* Render selected parts would be really nice.
* An option to allow for reverb / delay tails would be rather good. At the moment it's practically impossible to render a lot of little sections if they have echoes in without having to move all the other parts around every time.

As someone said upthread, an option to render so that individual drum / midi / audio clips go to individual (possibly overlapping) audio clips, or the current (output) audio clip ends and the next one begins every time a new drum / midi / audio clip begins would be amazing, (as would a quick-freeze option that only freezes the selected parts and leaves the rest of the track silent, so you don't have to freeze and unfreeze entire six minute tracks if you're working on an 8 bar loop) but that's drifting into coffee maker territory.
It's a rave, Lewis!

errrr.... sorry but... how do I render a midi track to a new audio track and how do I render a midi part to a new audio track? Can I?
Sorry I'm trying out XT2 again and so have missed most of the recent improvements...

Yes, you can.
1) Solo the track that you want to render as a whole or a part of it.
2) Select all parts or the one part that you want to render in this track.
3) Press 'Shift+Enter' to let XT2 set the loop locators to include all selected parts. (It will automatically start playing, but just press 'Space' then to stop the sequencer)
4) Press 'Ctrl+B' to call 'Bounce to audio track' (also available via main-menu on the top under 'Sequence')
5) Check the settings and press Start.

Here you go,
Patrik

Thanks Patrik. Is it me or... was it easier in eXT 1.4? :D

BTW this technique uncovered a bug: I opened the bounce panel and then closed it without starting the bounce, XT2 still created a new audio track, with an empty audio part.

Post

Do you already use the newest 2.07?
I thought this bug has already been fixed.
Half human, half mayfly.

Post

it was partially fixed. it used to also leave an empty wav file on disk... now it just leaves a track and an empty audio part, but it deletes the file from disk.

Could it be that with 2.07 final it is totally fixed?
I cannot reproduce it here anymore.

Well here it happens with 2.07 too. The audio part created is empty though.
