question, why the hell does barricade have point and click knobs??? if your mixing a song and your in the leveling process, one wrong click and you could blow your monitors. especially if you use a guitar and amp. its too ridiculous for words

Post

How else are you supposed to control them? I don't personally see an issue here, especially one that is "too ridiculous for words".

Then again, my monitors have a limiter built in so it's near impossible to blow them. So it's even less of a big deal for me.

But yeah, I must be missing something because I don't see the big deal.

He means that "point-and-click" knobs which immediately jump to the position pointed are far from optimal and it should have knobs that respond to mouse movement rather gently only after you click them.

Perhaps you should consider staying away from beta-software.

Yeah, this is a first version of BETA software. These things happen, and this is the time to POLITELY suggest things. But jens put it perfectly: if you can't handle it or don't like problems like that, then testing pre-release software is NOT for you.

imo, besides the fact that he indeed wasn't polite in any way, he's not too wrong ...
i also hate this knob behaviour just because of these reasons ...
you dialed something in, just need it a bit tweaked and you can start off again on that knob, as you can't point the mouse that exact, so the knob just moves everywhere, but not where you want it ...
imo it should behave like: just klicking, nothing happens, klicking and draging should go from the value the slider is on already ...
but yes, the post could have been a bit friendlier by this guy ... ;)

In case anyone is paying attention, the Jeroen Breebaart website is back online. He must have gotten up and running at the new host!

anyone knows what the pro version will cost??

Post

No. He just said that it would be priced so affordable that it wouldn't be worth downloading it by "other means" instead of paying. So it won't likely be very much. Definitely worth every penny though, I would guess, since it's a fantastic plugin.
