Have you ever thought about burning the church organ?

I must admit that I have thought about it on the odd occaisions that I have been to church.

I'm going into Omnisphere denial... One lock at the calender and I realized how long september is off.... Oh well...
...So to the next question to pass this marathon of a wait.... What will Eric be burning this weekend for Omnisphere?

While I can't wait to get my grubby little hands on this beast come September, I have somewhat alleviated my impatience with the realization that once I get it, I will probably be neglecting all my other synths for a long time. Therefore, I am spending the next six months really digging into the things I already have. So for the next six months I am doing a lot of programming on the likes of Massive, Absynth, Rapture, and others. I'm even digging more deeply into Atmosphere (which is only slightly painful as I can only fantasize about what I could do with the same core sample in Omnisphere).

So with that approach, I'm "almost" grateful for the six month wait.

Wait, who am I kidding, I want Omnisphere now!

Oops now, I'm afraid Omnisphere might burn my computer after installation

I'll have to find a watering can. The latest video has been very helpful about how to proceed in case things should go wrong !!!

I was sold after the first video..and it only gets better and better.

What Eric didn't say is whether or not GrooveLock is itself "locked" to RMX in the sense that Omnisphere requires RMX in order for GrooveLock to function.

I'm already a user of RMX, so it's not a deal breaker for me, but it does go to the "bundle 'em up/lock the mindshare" marketing strategy. If I were an EZDrummer user, could I drag a MIDI drum file from it (or its library) to Omnisphere and achieve yummy GrooveLock goodness? Same with a third-party beat pattern shop like Groove Monkey and others? How about any patterm - like a guitar chord strum pattern for instance?

Just asking from the evil Devil's Advocate Peanut Gallery.

I'm a huge fan of Spectrasonics, but I've always been a bit disappointed with Atmosphere's performance (or lack thereof) with FL Studio. Since Omnisphere will be switching engines, is it safe to assume it will be compatible with FL Studio? =)

My guess would be no - the drag/drop thing from RMX just writes pure midifiles, and the Omnisphere GrooveLock gui widget says "DRAG MIDIFILE HERE", so I'm pretty sure you could use any regular MIDIfiles (though there might be certain restrictions on the size or something).

Great video BTW, really enjoyed it. What's not to like, with Eric, Omnisphere, Moog Modular, JP4, JP8, Juno60, Prophet VS, Virus TI and a JP8000 all in the same room!

Great demo - what an amazingly cool arpeggiator (understatement!).

Every time I see a Prophet VS, I feel a momentary pang of regret that I sold mine all those years ago (but then I remind myself how much aggravation it probably would have caused me by now trying to keep it maintained and working properly!).
