I don't know how many of you saw whyterabbyt's heads up about an article in the March 2008 Sound On Sound that deals with getting rights to use samples, but it's definitely worth reading if you can find a copy -- The SOS Guide To Sample Clearance on page 142. Thanks to whyterabbyt for pointing this out.

I've read a lot of stuff about copyrights on samples and that SOS article is the best one I've seen - definitely recommended bedtime reading..
