Generative stuff with BDM and Live instruments

BTW thanks a lot to everyone who replied and commented my previous track,
you made me happy!

Live seems to be the tool for you, mate: again a quite special and entirely groovy track!

thanks mate, I'm not so happy with this track like I was with the Dub one,
but I think it's rhythmically interesting nonetheless... Live? Yes it's great, this Pallerdance Algois was the first work I made with it and today I only arranged the parts and rendered the audio, actually I really like the way you can quickily make sketches of compositions in Live and then come back to them weeks later to see what it's worth to do.

That's my method with Cubase and energyXT too, but with Live and clips that all seems easier, moreover the automation recording possibilities are something I dreamed of for some time.
There is still the risk to make only loop based songs, like in FL Studio,
and I think that the boucing between clips and tracks could be still improved
in both directions.

(BTW Ableton did not pay me, neither give me a free copy, <wink>)

ciao

Yeah, there are lots of things, that could be better in Live especially, when you record audio (vox e.g.) or try to edit your midi-works, but the workflow is fantastic, even if you don't use a lot of loops.

Cheers

Hey some very tasty syncopation there liqih!

You seemed to be more testing out ideas with the melodic parts - would be great to hear it developed further. :)

Lots of us Live users about these days I see... :D

Really nice stuff. It reminds me of some of the atari algo apps like Tunesmith or Schoenberg composer. Cool drums too!

Thanks mate, the melodic parts are generated randomly with Live MIDI FX so they are different at every rendering, not sure what I would do then, <gein>

Yeah Tim, I hear you, the "random but filtered to scale" MIDI notes sound like that.

Thanks

dunno why but this makes me think of a level in the nintendo 64 version of mario world. in one of those messed up worlds where you are discombobulated. interesting stuff here....i could imagine a sound effect of mario jumping.
