At 305 mb, it's a hefty download. Not nearly as much as Independence Free, but still.

Has anyone tried this yet? Care to report on it?

The file doesn't seem to be at the link they sent me. It just downloads a dummy zip file of 0kb. The page also gives a 404 error when trying to access the file by left clicking or letting it start on it's own.

I jsut saw it and am going to give it a full run through tonight. I do not own any of the current Native Instruments software, except a bundled kompakt, so this is more a way for me to try out the engines and see what I think of them in context of a song.

I sent them my e-mail addy and they sent me a link to a page that opens for a second before switching to an 'unable to establish connection page

I'll wait til it shows up as a CM exclusive with extra presets or somesuch

Try again later. The servers have been hammered the last couple days between the player and various updates...

Also, does anyone know if the KORE packs are all new sounds or if they are emulations of patches that the instrument owners already have? For example, the Absynth pack says it's a 'best of Absynth' sound pack. So if I already own Absynth, do I already have these patches?

Its a no-go for me as well. I registered, received the download link, no joy. :(

I installed it. Some cool sounds (a good acoustic bass, organs, decent drumkits). Some synthies sound sucks really. Not enough samples, they want us to buy extensions, that's their bizness.

The Absynth sounds you probably already have, but the controller mappings are supposed to be new. I have that Korepack, but I haven't installed it yet.

Download link doesn't work here. Firefox sais the connection has been cancelled or something like that.

They put it on a crappy, overloaded server. Then they make the link only work for 48h. Clever way to release something and claim it's "free"... I guess they want me to want Kore so badly now that I *almost* got the Player for free, that'll run off and buy the complete package.. Not gonna happen. Not gonna press F5 for the next 48h either, in the hopes of getting through to the download.

You all should use a download manager ala getright.

Yesterday it took me about 4 hours to get it. (on down2.native-instruments.com).It's a nice freeware but we re limited to 50 sounds
and 5 fxs.It still can be used.
Engines used by the player are simply the vsti plugins with their guis and everything.I thought they'd have put some special dlls.
Good stuff this player.
