Well, it was bound to happen! The self-evolving nature of This Plugin, and it's ability to evolve has caused it some legal woes. Apparently, it evolved into Kontakt 4; and NI isn't pleased.

it has been a few month, and this plugin is still the thing.
but some time has passed and the massive hysteria is over, time for reflection.
is it really the sound or is something else that might have caused this plugins mania?

there are voices claiming this plugins world dominating success is based on clever marketing strategies too.
"this plugin has shown a magnificient marketing campaign is the key to success" (Rob Hollins, financee expert, NewYork Times, 1.3.2008) (made up!)

yeah that is true. of course the sound of this plugins cannot be ruled out, but is there soemthing that can co-explain the success history? besides its sonic purity there is another thing, the 'marketing of not buying'. whereas all other devs struggle hard to make arguments why you should buy a plugin, this plugin has set the boundaries of innovative marketing to another level:

Starplugs has announced the release of THS Synthesizer MK-1.

"THS Synthesizer"! Those Starplugs weenies are just trying to steal This Plugin's thunder.

remember page 1 and 2 of this plugin, wow, what wonderful carefree times, now its much more serious, people have become jaded and abusive of this plugin, back in my day we had to walk 30 blocks to use this plugin, this plugin only cost a nickel, now, these youths, they ruining everything, cant even use this plugin on the street anymore you'll get shot. and the music they make with this plug, thumping, i cant hear myself think,

I was using this plug-in last night when I suddenly I felt extremely drowsy...

When I awoke, I was in a hotel bathtub full of ice and "CALL 911" was scrawled in blood on the mirror.
