Elektroplankton WAS japan only...
And there wasn't any problem on buying the JAP version...
but... when ppl started to download the elektroplankton rom"z" from emule to their R4 DS card... a USA version went out...

No way! First DSWiFi, now Korg DS-10. If that project isn't banned by Korg, I so want to use it. Glad that I'm not against videogaming and "abusing" these devices for more. Heck I'd even get that GB Sequencer for my old GB/GBC
So in other words, get it, abuse all the way. I still play the japanese Phantom Hourglass from time to time on my old DS.
Yup, thank god the handheld was always NOT code locked, unlike the once planned region lock for the PSP, and the general region locks on the desktop consoles.rosllow wrote:will the japanese thingies run on a non japanese ds then ?

It seems really stupid to limit this funny portable synth/drum/pattern sequencer only to japan market... everybody needs to make music on the toilet !!!
and... obviously it will run jap on usa/eur DS with R4 so... it's better if they make a USA/EUR version asap... or ppl will search for the "z" version.

"Japan only" isn't really a problem. There is no region-lock on a DS. I'm using Japanese software on my DS already. The only thing that might be a show-breaker whould be the text in Japanese, but come on, the interface shows VCO, VCF etc... In that case, I'm sure we can all read Japanese

I assume this comes on a DS cartridge and that the cartridge will only be sold in Japan at least for the time being? The DS is WiFi capable but I don't own one so I don't know if you can download software to it or not.NickSonic wrote:"Japan only" isn't really a problem.
"Specifications KORG DS-10
Release date July 2008
Price 4,800 YEN (tax included)
Distributor AQ Interactive, Inc.
*FOR JAPAN ONLY"
Or perhaps that means that AQ Interactive Inc is the distributor for Japan only. I'm sure it will hit the rest of the World's markets sooner or later.

Yeah, I don't understand what the fuzz about the "Japan only" thing is about, especially since the GUI seems to be in English.Compyfox wrote: One answer: www.play-asia.com

Looks awesome... BUT I think 2 melodic voices is just a bit skimpy. Even a 8-bit Nintendo had 3 voices, which is the minimum for bass/lead/harmony.
