:?:
From the Musikmesse site:

AmpliTube X-GEAR is included with the StompIO and will also be available separately at a list price of 79.99 EUR (ex VAT) shortly. Registered AmpliTube 2 user will be able to download AmpliTube X-GEAR 1.1 free-of-charge in their IK Multimedia User Area.
What does "shortly" constitute in IKMM's space-time continuum?
I seem to remember it was measured in Earth years regarding Amplitube 2's immanent release...

This is exactly the issue with IKMM. What does Shortly mean?

I am guessing by next week, and definitely this month!!! :)

Notice it's version 1.1 already ;-)

I'm guessing a week after Musikmesse....but that's just a throw of the dice ;-)

I'm looking forward to getting it so that I can use a few pedals from AT2 with JHE
Play what you feel and feel what you play.

You can still do it now using a good VST host. I already tried doing that and using Bidule (which is quite a nice host I may say) and it gave good results.

Although it is a hassle, and not as direct of a connection as the X-Gear will offer even if you use a "transparent" amp

Me I can't wait for the MIDI functionality for the standalone :)

It's version 1.1 because version 1.0 is StompIO compatible only. It ships with StompIO. 1.1 is the version that will support generic MIDI controllers.

You can't mix and match amp components, like say, sticking the KT66 poweramp from the ATJHE Super Lead in the AmpliTube 2 JCM 800.

RedShift, my reply was quoted out of context. I was replying to Beergeek's "I'm looking forward to getting it so that I can use a few pedals from AT2 with JHE".

Anyways, X-Gear should be out any day now..

any Italian day that is...

I know what you meant. I was just pointing out what cannot be done with multiple instances of Amplitube products, because it seems that a lot of people think that X-Gear is just a convenience and it doesn't do anything you can't do without it. That's a common false perception that needs to be addressed.

Correction. X-Gear should have been out in November of last year.

I will accept this one ;)

Today I rushed to KvR with anticipation of perhaps a big Musikmesse announcement from IK Multimedia...

And lo and behold, sitting right at the top of the news page there it was...
StompIO is STILL SHIPPING!
Hooray for that.

Is there any word as to if Metal will be part of IK Multimedia's 2 for 1 sale they're having?

Post

I don't think so. I remember reading something in the fine print that this only applies to the plug ins that were available at the start of the sale.

Post

O.k., here it is, from their website:

"This promotion is only available for products shipping at the launch of the promotion and all free products will be supplied as downloads."

I interpret this as "Metal might be available during the time of the sale, but it won't be part of the sale".

OK, news from Squids that X-Gear will be released next week!
Squids wrote: By the way, X-Gear is coming out next week. It's already out for Stomp IO users (the 1.1 version that also works without the Stomp). So the Classic Rock patches will be available to download next week too.

Post

Maybe they're waiting until it's $1 = 1 lira

So, next week is possible
