I read this under the Revised Plugins list for Edison.

Edison
# Can now link notes to markers/regions (for use in Fruity Slicer).

Read it here:

I'm wondering if anyone knows if patterns in a MIDI part can trigger slices in Edison??
Please let me know if this is possible (even with slicer or sliceX)???
Thanks

yes. edison parts can be sent into slicex, where all the slices can be controlled by midi. better yet, check out the manual by hitting f1. the piano roll allows you to trigger backwards slices as well.

I'm actually not an owner YET
This is why I ask.. Just to be clear, its NOT from the sliceX pianoroll only right? I can, put midi notes into a MIDI PART and route it to the sliceX? This is important because I'll be using a 3rd party MIDI plugin for my patterns (recording/playback).
Thanks for the response..

you can route as many midi parts as you want into a fl generator. just create the parts and route them accordingly. however, slicex's direct piano roll is, I'm guessing, the only way to trigger backwards parts (I could possibly be wrong on that one).
I'd recommend testing the demo, as it comes with working versions of edison and slicex. that way, you could test the midi effects that you want to use.

is there a demo for slicex yet? i thought that it was only in the v8 release candidae, which is only available to owners? (although I suspect the v7 demo will demonstrate what you need to know
)

oh right lol. ouroboros is right, although the fl8 demo should be out in a matter of days. the problem is that fl8 is bringing an increased price point.
