When does it become a genre? Technically, there are several groups releasing the same type of stuff under the same name (french electro), why isn't that a genre?
With your reasoning, one could say Disco isn't a genre aswell. That's just crap man.
And no, Justice and the Ed Banger crew aren't the only ones. Myspace is loaded of indieproducers that does a really nice job.

The problem with this kind of production is that it's very fatiguing. I can listen to a whole mr oizo album but that's because it is smooooooth, still in-your-face kind of raw but smooth and nice. Assaults the senses in a way that doesn't fatigue so quickly.

However, this I can barely listen through the whole track without feeling violated.

I do understand the charm of this tho.

the kick and snare are nice but the cymbals have GOT to go. The resonance of a cymbal that doesn't decay is a sound I'd rather not subject myself to. Very fatiquing, like much of the noise speedcore/splitter out there.

Sounds like a disco 4 bar snippet thrown into Liveslice and tweaked from there. Add a nicely complimenting bassline, a nice solid kick, Zebra synth (or something like it), and a massive amount of compression on the overall mix.
Arrangement.

Or maybe he has special powers that I am not familiar with.
Cool track though.

to the person who posted the thread i think good quality samples are key to this.i think if it sounds good without compression you have a good starting point.you can use compression to make certain sounds fit but i think for a beginner you need to keep it simple and make it sound good.when you can do that your 2 3rds the way there the more you play the more you will learn how to edit.for instance open 3 samplers put your kick in 1 maybe a snare in another and another sound of your choice play them with the same midi sequence.maybe try adding some midi effects maybe some vinyl distortion. then when youve recorded those parts together maybe put them through your glitch machine of choice also do this with the single hits......... only do it for about 30 secs and start arranging i think you will be surprised at what you come up with hope this puts the thread back on tracck because i too am here to learn and would love to hear some feedback.im not saying this is how its done im just offering a suggestion.ive been trying to make music for about 6 months and have learned that if you play for too long without putting anything in the arrangement you lose your way.hope this helps.

ive just listened again and sebastian doesnt really take it anywhere but as a producer i think to criticize him is laughable unless as i said earlier you can post something with your feeble remarks that will either entertain us or make us want to learn how YOU do it whatever the genre.rant over.

reminds me of an 18 year old japanese producer who I heard saying that he reckoned that europeans wouldnt be able to do the kind of music he was putting out..
The funny part was he that he was writing plain old happy hardcore which went out of style in europe 10 years ago....

Its "new" to Japan though I suppose..
