Hi PPL

you see, got some free time in work of late so was thinking of sampling some textures and the like off of youtube.

So looking for a shit hot, minimal, free, easy sampler to use -
now i know there are a lot out there now  so just looking for the best one(s)!! it will also have to be standalone (no cubase in work)!

Thanks in advance for a point in a direction, much obliged!

Most soft samplers these days don't actually sample. But you can use an audio editor to do this. The only free ones I can think of are Audacity, QuickAudio and Wavosaur.
Some free samplers to check out ... High Life, Paax and Shortcircuit.

:D

there is a freeware tool that alows you to rip only the audio of the youtube page:

http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/guides/dvd/ ... to-MP3.htm (http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/guides/dvd/convert-YouTube-to-MP3.htm)
go to http://sonic-cinema.info for free samples and patches.
