Does anyone remember my infamous Bela D flaming thread in which I almost got banned?

Bela D's library inspired me to buy the freakin instruments for myself, and they are cheap, some of them (of course maybe not professional quality). I'll soon have an native american flute and a few bamboo flutes. I'm also getting shakers, tamourine, and other easy-to-play AND HARD TO SAMPLE instruments to create awesome ethnic ensembles. I also plan on getting a PVC Fujara hopefully (if it's not to expensive), Konkovka, and whatever else!!!

I'm buying all my stuff at http://www.dulcimershofar.com/home.php Duduk requires a lot of breath, but after a few months of light practice, I was jamming. It's fun to play! (Edit: Oh, but there's no PVC, you gotta get that elsewhere.)

Hmmm, you might want to spend a bit more time working on your embouchure.

You have managed to get the first bit downpact, getting the basic notes out and the breathing. But even with the strong reverb, you can tell that your "mouth muscles" are not yet fully developed.

This is perhaps the hardest part of duduk playing because there are many charactistics bends and melismas? in duduk music that a good player is able to produce.

In fact, there are many duduk masters (in the traditional sense of the word of being competent enough to have earned the title), that have spent an entire lifetime trying to come to terms with the expressiveness and subtlety of the duduk.

Anyway, good to hear that you are having fun though.

I say MEH! I bet there are electronic artist masters that are spending those lifetimes with the same goal, same for every single person place or thing that ever created sound. I'll improve on the Duduk, I seriously doubt I'll ever be able to fool those with good ears, but my playing skill will easily beat the expressive quality of a sample library!

And that's good enough for me!

We're talking about being less dependent on sample libraries, go out and buy the real thing.

Edit: Oh, and buy a Korg MR-1, iZotope RX for noise reduction, and binaural mics from MicrophoneMadness.com, that will run you about $1300, but it's worth it. Opens up infinite recording possibilities. Maybe it won't sound like a $15,000 setup, but it will sound pretty darn good for the average person.

I just wanted to reiterate that I don't think that it sounds bad.
In fact, for any "non-purist" purposes it would probably be fine.

I'm just telling you what my ears were telling me, so I hope you don't take it the wrong way.

Ah, well thanks! I can tell you that what you are hearing is a duduk terribly in need of oiling. Once I get it oiled up, my playing will sound a bit better.
