Knowing IKMM, Softube's Metal Amp Room will be out before AT Metal. I seem to remember NI Guitar Rig and Waves GTR both going from announcement to release during the extended time between the same for AmpliTube2, with Guitar Rig even entering version 2 before AmpliTube 2 became available.
IKMM's delayed schedule undoubtedly cost them countless sales to their quicker, more responsive competition. Looks like history may be repeating with Metal.

I found this and it works really well:politcat wrote:plus one...the noise gate is my only complaint about AT2.redshift factor wrote:My wishlist also included an MXR SmartGate or Rocktron HUSH. Traditional gates suck, and the one that is incorporated into AmpliTube products is no exception. The cool thing about the HUSH and I think the SmartGate as well is they use a dynamically controlled low-pass filter in conjunction with a downward expander so you get a more natural attack and decay instead of an abrupt all-or-nothing gate slamming shut. A noise reduction stompbox in AmpliTube would also give the user control over where the gate appears in the signal chain, so it could be placed after a distortion pedal, for example.
I'm surprised a good noisegate pedal wasn't emulated. Isn't that a part of every guitarist's pedal board?!

That still doesn't address this:politcat wrote:I found this and it works really well:

Now if this was Revalver we were discussing, where you can insert a 3rd party VST plugin anywhere in the signal chain inside the plugin, then it would.redshift factor wrote:A noise reduction stompbox in AmpliTube would also give the user control over where the gate appears in the signal chain, so it could be placed after a distortion pedal, for example.

Between the insanely prices for their gear and the iLok, I find myself saying "So What?"
And it's not even vaporware, it's a couple of skectches implying a rumor, on a blog.
Enlighten me

I auditioned Softube, the first version wasn't impressed at all.funkychickendance wrote:Between the insanely prices for their gear and the iLok, I find myself saying "So What?"

On a different note, I auditioned MKIII this week-end, I can tell you guys
They finally got rid of their FUGLY brown banner...they have nice and streamlined updated looks, and the sound is gorgeous.
And just when you thought it couldn't get any better...They (he) manage to out do them selfs. The only downside is that all the new amps are Peaveys, but they do sound awesome, especially the TripleXXX..and the ValveKing...awesome, really awesome. I even dare to say that Dimi might be dropping Nick's plugins to rekindle with the his past flame
Can't wait for AT2ME for comparison....It is a great year for guitarists! Especially Metal Heads
C'mon IKMM, we are all waiting!
Waited: 6 month for X-Gear: Check
Waited: 1 year for Metal : Check
Running out of patience: Check
Would still be happy as a clam when they will be released: CHECK!

Peavey isn't even promoting Revalver MK III. The only way I was able to find the Revalver MK III page [http://www.peavey.com/products/revalver/] was through a Google search. Using the search on peavey.com for "revalver" turns up nothing. They have no links on the site to it at all.
I hate to say it, but I think Revalver's remaining life span will be short.
Peavey isn't going to put in the sort of development that the Amplitube line or Guitar Rig gets.
Only new models are Peavey amps?
Anyone think Revalver will ever see new models that aren't Peavey products?
Anyone think Revalver will get any new models again, period?
I've seen this a lot from these types of companies. Think Gibson and Opcode.
I think the fat lady has sung on Revalver, and she's using a shitty Peavey mic.

Revalver MKIII isn't out yet. Should be out next month according to sources. I think Peavey are preparing a website overhall.redshift factor wrote:Peavey isn't even promoting Revalver MK III. Well, redshift, I thought the same, but a discussion with some pertinent contacts assured me that they will NOT be limiting Revalver to just Peaveys amps. And another product that they launched is the VYPYR modeling guitar amplifiers, that emulates not only Peavey amps. Although I couldn't find a reference to the exact amp the VYPR emulates, on the following quote "both the clean and distorted channels of 12 popular amps for the first time anywhere".
Peavey wants to be present in the amp modeling market, and not only try to emulate their own amps. I think that RV MKIV will be even more customizable allowing you to build your own virtual amp from scratch, effects, etc...that is the feeling I got.

Btw, here is the link to MKIII on Peavey's website:
http://www.peavey.com/products/revalver/
I think the screenshot is an older version, because the one I saw did not have the ugly brown banner and seemed to have a better look overall.
