spectral analysis (like in audition for instance) would be nice.

haha - now that's a funny request - we haven't even fades yet, mate. ;-)

well i guess one can only ask so much from the customers when it comes to contributing to the product... i think it's legit to make suggestions on stuff that might strike me as potentially useful while not actually going into the trouble of prioritizing.

i agree, tons of stuff need to be addressed first and there are other tools (and free ones at that) that do spectral analysis. however, a neat set of natively implemented (as opposed to plugin based) analysis tools would probably be a bonus point for xt or any other daw. having said that i'd probably prefer to have a synth like maelstrom or thor natively and a spectrum+phase analyzer implemented into xt2 before i had spectral analysis... but to have all three plus other features someday would be nice.

edit:
in all truth... xt2 with little or no bugs seems to be at least a few months away (hope i'm wrong). so you're right x2

No problem, mate - ask away - a man can dream as much as he likes - it doesn't cost a thing. :-)

There's no rule at how much over the top FR may maximally be.

It's always fun to request stuff we'd like to see and there's no harm done to anyone.

But regarding your particular request:

Did you look a Schwa's plugins such as Spectro?

I think stuff like spectral analysis is best put into a plugin.
That's sort of the beauty of the modular thing: you can plugin whatever you want. If someone would take the time he could probably code a tracker plugin for ext.

I think the host should focus on the midi editing and the general workflow at the moment.
