Hello All,
Being new to FL studio and DAW I was wondering about the following.
I already have a Motif ES with built in sequencer and pleased with it however would like to introduce an external sampler with MIDI. Is it possible to trigger samples via MIDI (Using M-AUdio fast track pro) and have my laptop act as a dumb sampler player slave?

Sure.
FLStudio is not the greatest host for MIDI control in some respects (it's funny about pitch/mod wheel and other continuous controllers) but it should do the trick.

If you have a recent-ish version of FLS, then you have Directwave (mini-Kontakt-style sampler, which can import several 3rd party formats, including sf2, akai and kontakt v1, iirc) and FPC (akai mpc-style drum-oriented sample player).
So, yes.

You would be surprised, for MIDI sequencing there are countless options that are as good as each other. I'm more accustomed to cubase, so would recommend them; but it all depends on what you like.

People tend to get confused by FL's midi control support, but it's all there (cc, pitch, mod, aft, etc) as long as you route it correctly to the plugin using a Midi Out channel.foosnark wrote:Sure.

If you haven't already, look it up in the manual (midi out generator and internal midi ports).
