Hi, I'm looking for a midi sampler (like nn-xt or kontakt) that can auto pitch scale- play a wav file I load at different pitches without changing the speed of the sample. I want it to be able to do this instantly so I can use it like an instrument. Basically I want to create quasi instruments for me to play with weird sounds I record. I want to do this without getting a weird speed up, slow down sort of sound. I'm running windows with p tools.
Thanks
Sampler with auto pitch scaling

If I understand you correctly, there are some instruments that allow you to define the scaling of pitch shift by key, with greater or lesser amounts of pitch shift between keys all the way down to a fixed pitch and therefore duration across the keyboard, and some that allow you to independently manipulate sample pitch and duration, but I can't think of anything that does both. Dimension Pro and VSampler both allow scaling pitch keytracking as a directly accessible parameter, saveable with the preset. The sfz spec, which is used by Dimension and Rapture, can do this as part of the definition file, but it is not necessarily recognized by all instruments that load sfz. The free sfz player does, of course. On the other hand, independent control of pitch and duration is a parameter of both Kontakt and Sampletank.
Sometimes when you convert an sfz file that has such modified keytracking using ESC, the target instrument format will play it(Sampletank) and sometimes it isn't recognized. I tried experimenting with Kontakt scripts but did not get the results I wanted or anticipated. I want to be wrong about this, so I hope someone knows better than me.
