New eSoundz Downloadable section

Hey Nikko
Thanks for remembering! I think the new site looks good and it represents a real solution for musicians looking for that elusive sound. Good to hear they will all be auditionable in due course - that's vital. One thing: in the "instruments" section, it doesn't seem possible to list by instrument, only by collection, format etc. I think the old site allowed you to filter say "piano" .... this might be a helpful addition .... unless I'm missing something. I'm aware that you can use the search facility, of course, but the search page expires after you have looked at one of the items and try to return.

Good point, the easy way to add a more general filter would be to add an empty text box at the top of each section. If you enter 'piano' in this box it will display only the instruments with piano in their description.
But this filter will stay like the drop down menus, so if you go back and forth, the filter will still be set.
To remove the filter, simply clear the box and click on the filter button and that's it.
It is hard to explain... what do you think about this?

Maybe - but this wouldn't capture those instruments with ... er .. more colourful names! How about another list on the left hand side with each sample coded against common instrument names. More work, though!
I've been browsing, by the way, and there still seem to be mismatches between a listed instrument and its audition sound. I chose the guitar collection and on this list Delicate Electric Guitar Delay and Wah lead Guitar linked to percussion samples, whilst the Ebow Vibrato Guitar seemed to be a double bass.
Hope this helps

Hum... I'll ask Allen to check the sounds, the demo are here for a while, we haven't changed them.
About the basic menu, it is not that much work. The only thing is too select a range of the most common instruments...
I think it is a good idea. I'll post here if it is done, I need to talk to Squids about it first...

Nikko
Any progress with filling in the audition gaps and matching samples to instruments yet? Still getting some odd responses to particular instruments - it's difficult to buy individual instruments like this.
Whilst I'm here - any plans to increase brass collections for Sampletank?

It is moving, I've just finished some changes in the user area (download folding) and also created new downloadable product made from multiple products.
If you do not have any news Friday contact me, I'll make it this week...
You are right it is something that need to be done.
About the brass, I don't know, I've not heard anything but Squids can answer better than I about this.

I've been pooking around the Loop Club but never figured out how to hear any loops. That may be from not being able to guess any names. Here is what I did.
Genre - Latin
Sound Type - Percussion
Performance - Beat
I tried conga, salsa, samba, * and NULL/blank as in the search window but never did get any results. Is this because I don't have any credits?

All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

I cannot get anything to play in Loop Club either. I sent a support issue on it, and they said "it worked for us when you signed on as you, clear your cache and try again". Tried that and some other things and I just cannot get it to play in IE 6 of FF2.Rabid wrote:I've been pooking around the Loop Club but never figured out how to hear any loops. To listen to the demos you need to be logged.
You don't have to buy any Credits, just create an account, and log in, so you can just register for free and enjoy.
If you have already an account, it is even simpler, clock on the upper 'logging' link and enter your login/password.

Yes, and to be clear he means just your regular esoundz account, not any other kind of account. So just login to esoundz and then you can hear all the loops. If you aren't already a member of esoundz then join up. It's free so you might as well. Just being a member entitles you to 10% off on a lot of things.

I'm logged in, I bought some points (because I thought I had to to browse/listen) and I still cannot get anything to play in Firefox 2 or IE 6.
AARRRG. Am I doing something wrong?
The little "play" button turns blue and changes to a pause icon, but I hear nothing. Windows sounds are on. Other shockwave/flash site play fine (like mine at http://www.hybernationmusic.com/fragileforest).
I just don't get it. Is it working for everybody else out there except for me?
If there some special version of flash or shock player I need?
Thanks

I just checked. It plays for me. I needed to click twice, but it played. "This is an esoundz demo."

Are you talking about Loops? Did you get Loops to play? (other demos on the site work fine for me, just nothing in the "Loops Club"...)Reverend Rhythm wrote:I just checked. It plays for me. I needed to click twice, but it played. "This is an esoundz demo."

We use the same way to play the demo as on eSoundz products.
So if the play button is greyed, double check that at the upper right you have your login in green and 'logout' written, if not, you are not logged.
