I've just recently learned that there is a name associated with the UI; it's called steampunk. Check it out and google it!

Already posted this at the Olga forum :

Hello,

i tried to programm some patches but i am not able to overwrite any patches. Looks like a overwrite protection. I am only able to save patches as single files (.fxp). When i try to organize them in a bank either this doesnt't work or the name is lost. I use version 1.0.0.8.

Update :
When i load a single patch to the bank it's stored at number 76. When i save the bank and load it again later the patch is still there but the name changed to "new preset" or "Accept no Substutute". Same problem when loading single fxp-patches. The patch is there but the name is changed. :?

Tried in Live 7, MiniHost and Savihost. The plugin is running absolutely stable but those saving problems are making me nervous.

Hi Ingonator,

Sorry for the annoying preset issues. Every host seems to have its own interpretation of the FXP/FXB system, which is why a lot of synths ignore FXP/FXB completely and use built-in preset management.

In any case, in the next Olga release, I'll make sure the preset names get restored properly in Live, and I'll work on preset banks too.

Hello schwa,

thank you very much. The problem is the same in Live 7, Minihost and Savihost (that are all hosts i have). The naming thing for me is the only real problem with Olga. Generally the synth is just awesome.

Other question : Why could the patches only be loaded to numbers higher than 75 ? Is there something like a write protection for the factory presets ? :?

Speaking about factory patches some more would be nice. You already mentioned it so i'm looking forward to that.

I think we will probably roll out AU builds of some of our (mine, and Scott Stillwell's) plugins as public betas within a week.

Wait, you mean ALL of the plugins on that page will be AU?!?!?!?

I also eagerly anticipate the phaser plugin you teased about in the effects forum...

It looks like schwa found a solution for the "lost patch names" problem today. :)

By the way, i published a review about Olga at KVR :

I liked the demos, & the price is right on. The GUI leaves me dead, cause I wouldn't know what I was turning. Not sure about the analog drifting thing either. Wonder if there's a way to switch that off. Otherwise, sweet machine.

OK, maybe it's time to open the secret about the switch for the translation. Do you see the white symbol below the eight switches at the left side. This is the switch to show the english translations. Another hint is the manual. All functions are explained there. The manual is in the same folder like the olga dll-file.

Update : I am not sure what you mean about drifting. A slight drifting belongs to the analog simulation of the synth. The big knob in the middle is the "drive" knob. It's like an analog tube amp.

It's not what you use, it's how you use it...

I agree, i looked at the corresponding part of the manual again and about the "Drive" knob they write :

"Raising the Drive level increases the power through the whole system, which in turn increases the overall instability, overdrive, distortion and wildness of the sound."

That's a real nice description of what it does. :D

Hello,

i just posted 10 patches for Olga at KVR. It's called "Ingonator Olga patches 1".

description :

"I made 10 patches for Olga which i want to post here. 10 fxp files and one fxb bank file are included. At least version 1.00.08 is recommended

The bank is made with the updated testing version which schwa provided today. Users of old versions schould be careful. My patches are numbers 76 to 85 in the bank, the ones with "IW" at the end of te name."
