how expensive are they, as i don't hace a credit card, main reason i'm looking to do it myself, but I think just to access the store I need a .mac account, and to get one i need a CC

Did they raise the price? I only paid $20...
...and the money I've made in the year I've had my stuff there has more than justified the initial cost. Even if it's just my mom buying my stuff

still 30$ for 6 songs is a bit steep, why isnt apple letting people uploading themselves, withut being robbed by 3rd party?

Quality control I'd guess is part of it, it's pretty easy already to get on to iTunes, but I doubt they want it to become mp3.com.

I went through Tunecore, too. It's paid for itself, but probably not much more. I have it listed on eMusic as well.

Justin, why only iTunes? You get a better monetary return from iTunes, but I've found I get more unsolicited downloads from eMusic, such that I've made more money from it in the long run.

I'm actually planning on moving to selling directly from my site next commercial release I make. Much simpler, and I'm sure while I won't get rich, I'll sell enough to make $30.

i probably wont sell enough (i have 32 albums, it's like 1000$ for them all) ever to make up the money, that is why I wanted a way to upload directly to itunes without any extortionist 3rd party

Well, perhaps it would benefit you to maybe be selective in what's worth selling and what's worth just giving away for free.

It isn't likely that even the most diehard fans are going to want to listen to 385 songs, let alone buy them on iTunes.
